I believe the product you may be referring to is RemTyme, which is a supplement that is claimed to help with sleep.
It contains L-theanine, Melatonin, Magnesium, Chamomile, Passionflower, Lemon Balm and hops.
It is, however, not scientifically proven to help with anything, though several of the ingredients are used in many products to help with relaxation and better sleep.
As to its being used by astronauts, it is possible that NASA and other space agencies have tested it, however, they have not, at this time, found any product that works well and consistently, even among prescription medications.
