I have been prescribed Eplepton for extremely restless legs which cause insomnia. In addition my thyroid has gone from being underactive to overactive so therefore my meds were reduced. I also over a period weaned myself off one tramacet and one celebrex which I took every night for approximately three years for neck pain. I discontinued taking these two tablets as I was extremely sleepy during the day. Lastly I was prescribed urbanol for depression as well which I also weaned myself off soon after discontinuing the use of tramacet and celebrex. My question to you is this ... is it safe to take Eplepton 1 nightly, 100mg when five years ago I had a stroke and subsequently two heart episodes. I really have a dilemma currently. Thank you. ## This medication is listed as containing the acti...

THC pill for Shingles treatment ## I have shingles fibromyalgia arthritis I need something for my pain that was told that um pill works ## The US National Institute of Health has a multitude of articles written that discuss the therapeutic benefits of Cannabinoids (THC/CBD) being used for postherpetic neuralgia (shingles). Cannabinoids are reportedly beneficial in treating neuroinflammation (nerve pain) as well as the stress associated with it. Cannabinoids have also been classified in clinical studies as being "neuroprotective agents". If you run a Google search for "thc for shingles nih" as well as "cbd for shingles nih", you'll find some intriguing studies that outline the benefits of Cannabis for such purposes. The only issue I see with a pharmaceutically...

Back is out again. One shot of cortisone will get me back to normal within 30-45 minutes. No one will help me. Is there any Doctor in PA that will administer one shot of cortisone? Lehigh Valley area. ## There is no proof that cortisone, triamcinolone, dexamethasone, or any steroid is a benefit when injected into spine. That is why FDA has black box warnings on the drug use in this way. The manufacturers do not recommend using it via epidural route. You should Google the Safe Use Initiative Program by FDA and it’s work on Epidural steroid drugs. Also, FDA issued a Drug safety communication in November 2014 that warns patients on the dangers and risks of these procedures. ## While these shots have successfully helped many people, the other poster is correct regarding their warnings...

Hi, 8 years ago I started taking Enbrel. I had a bad knee injury in HS and years later developed arthritis in my right knee. I do not have arthritis in any other joints. Nothing worked to take the swelling out of my knee and it was very difficult to walk. My RA doctor prescribed Enbrel and it has been amazing for me. No side effects and my knee inflammation disappeared. Overtime however my knee was deteriorating. I asked my RA doctor if a knee replacement would get me off the Enbrel. He said no. I would still need to take the shots and that my arthritis is an auto immune issue. 6 months later I went to see my RA doctor again but he was not in. The RA doctor in his place that day told me that yes, if I don't have arthritis in any other joints, a knee replacement will get rid of my ar...

Sold under the name Ardosons in Mexico. Are there many side effects? Should I take as needed or should I take one or two a day every day as recommended by my Mexican doctor. Are there long term side effects? ## The ingredients are Indomethacin, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory; Betamethasone, which is a steroid class medication and Methocarbamol, which is a muscle relaxant. So, it's used to treat pain, fever and swelling. The doctor is correct, it is usually just taken, as need for pain, up to twice a day. Since it does contain an NSAID, it can cause some side effects, such as headache, nausea and stomach irritation, which could worsen and put you in danger, if you take too much of it. Learn more: Possible long-term effects, if you use it for a long period of time, may incl...

Can Indomethacin and Wellburtin taken together cause a reaction? Lightheadness, dizzy, confusion, slurred speech, blood pressure was high. I ended up in the emergency room. Poison control said it was these medications that caused this. ## They aren't actually interactions, but they can be side effects of these medications, which could be worsened by combining them. For example, both Indomethacin, and Wellbutrin may cause dizziness, drowsiness, sedation and somnolence as side effects, according to FDA reports, so taking them both could make those symptoms more severe, and that could lead to the slurring of speech that you experienced. The high blood pressure is also something that can be a side effect of both of these medications, so it could be worsened by combining them. Ref: Medli...

I was on Vioxx for 4 years, it worked for my knees. Then they pulled it off the market. I was prescribed 1000 mg of Relafen. After a week or so I got severe stomach pain and ultimately went into kidney failure. Is this a common side effect? ## It is listed as being a very rare possible side effect of Relafen, it has happened in less than 0.01% of people that have taken it, according to FDA reports. REF: MedLine Plus Nabumetone Other side effects may include nausea, headache, stomach irritation, and liver damage. Is that the only medication you were taking? Have they definitively attributed it to the medication?

Hi ~ Just got the rheumatoid arthritis tap on the shoulder today. Rinvoq seems to be advertised a lot but I’d sure like to hear from folks who actually are using it. Has it been effective for you? What kind of side effects are you noticing? Anybody? ## I have RA and since there’s no cure for it, I can’t take these types of drugs including the DMARDS they have horrific side effects. But I take pain medication as needed. I don’t know of others who take this but I’ll find out. Best of luck. ## Thank you Bella ~ I am going to have to look up what DMARDS are! The ‘language’ of RA I will have to learn. I am liking your approach, of taking as little as possible of the least damaging, side effect laden medication. I’m 67 and take no meds at all at...

Can u tell me what this pill is its got 100 on one side an blank on the other side and is white round pill ## Hello, Eva! How are you? Is the tablet possibly an off-white/pale yellow? If so, it is manufactured by Carlsbad Technology and they list it as containing 100mgs of Meloxicam. The FDA classifies this medication as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that's used to treat pain, fever and swelling. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. ## I called it white but knew I didn't have caffeine or the other option. They were definitely yellow compared to the white potassium. Meloxicam is the winner. I had it a while back and still have bottle with some in it just don't know why I would have som...

My son was diagnosed with many small blood clots in his lungs, Dr perscribed xaralta but advised him to discontinue his celebrex drug. He is suffering greatly over entire body with stiffness and pain from his head to his toes, What can he take to replace celebrex or can he go back on celebrex or is he getting reaction to the xalareto? ## How long has it been since he started the Xarelto and stopped the Celebrex? His symptoms might be due to a combination of side effects from the Xarelto, and a sudden withdrawal of the Celebrex. Given the blood clots, and the risks associated with them, it would be best that he not taking any medication that isn't approved by his doctor. Xarelto can cause side effects, such as nausea, headache, increased risk of bleeding, fatigue, and joint/muscle ac...

I just happened to buy a bottle of cheap vitamins. Glucosamine to be exact. It is an oblong pill with no markings or scoring. Hope this helps. ## Hi how big is it? Can you measure it please, Thank you ## Hello Nick, Thank you for sharing the information with the community. Just for your information vitamins and supplements do not have to be marked with an imprint like controlled medications do and thus there are bound to be many brands and types of supplements and vitamins that are white oblong pills with no imprint. In fact I have seen certain brands that use one color and shape for all of their vitamins and I can remember myself thinking, but how do they know if they accidentally switched the pills? Once again, thank you for taking the time out of your day to share this information. #...

Hi, I’m a 43 year old female and have had psoriatic arthritis for 26 years now. I’ve been on several different treatments in the past and now taking Cosentyx since feb 2021. I started with the loading dose and now on 300mg fortnightly. I haven’t experienced any side effects yet, however the last 4 days have noticed blood in my urine with tiny clots. I had a urinalysis done and results were clear of infection except it showed high level of blood in urine. I also had a renal and pelvis ultrasound and the results were good. My Dr has referred me to a urologist who I will see on 31st May. Back in 2004, while I was taking methotrexate I experience blood in urine and had a cystoscopy done. The results showed a malignant tumor in my bladder which was removed. I had no further...

Can you fail a drug test if you have taken BC powder earlier? I tested positive for methamphetamine. ## I’ll start off by saying it’s very rare to fail a drug test from BC powder. I take it all the time and I take a UA (drug test) every month because I’m prescribed Subutex. BC powder is aspirin but it’s in powdered form so it’ll hit faster it also has caffeine about 65 mg. The aspirin is 845 mg, So generally speaking it’s not common to fail for methamphetamine from BC powder, but I’m not saying it’s impossible. I have taken some over-the-counter anti-allergy medication such as NyQuil and various other things that have had false positive for meth. I can tell you Psuedoephedrine can make you fail for that as well. Had it happen myself and al...

I was wondering if anyone on Enbrel has taken covid-19 shot, and had an allergic reaction? ## You can read here about which medications should be paused, when getting your COVID vaccine, and possible issues that may arise. Enbrel is listed as one that it is not necessary to stop, so it seems there haven't been any issues reported. The first COVID shot doesn't usually cause many side effects, other than a sore arm, with some possible bruising, at the administration site, but the second dose my cause nausea, headache, fever, chills, and joint/muscle aches. I received my second dose of the Moderna one, today, and so far, I've been feeling a little off, and have a headache setting in. Can anyone that's on Enbrel and received the vaccine post with their experience?
