I am currently taking a 4mg Dospak 21's for an infection. I am having the red face side effect and am only on day 2 of the pack. My question is: how long will it take for the redness to subside? Is it ever permanent? ## Hello, Carol! How are you? Such side effects typically are not permanent, they usually go away within a week or so, of finishing your course of treatment. The FDA lists other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, insomnia, nervousness and acne. Is there anything else I can help with?

I was admitted in the hospital for 4 days, due to a severe reaction to poison ivy. Both of my legs were really swollen, red, painful, & hot to the touch. The doctors ran a complete CBC blood count & it was confirmed that my white blood count was high, my potassium was low, & that I also have an immune difficiency. They treated me with intravenous antibiotics & Methylprednisolone for 4 days. My swelling, redness, & pain did subside however, I am uncertain as to whether my progress was because of the antibiotics or Methylprednisolone. I was discharged after the fourth day & prior to being released, I did inform my doctor & nurses that my entire family at home was sick with the flu. I woke the very next morning with a bad cold that turned into the flu which also...

my name is kay can my husband take the methylprednisolone 4 mg can he take soma 350 mg with this he is in major pain and this is what they gave him plus 800 mg ibuprofen and tramadol help can't handle the crying. ## Hello, Kay! How is your husband doing? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between the Methylprednisolone and Soma, however, taking Ibuprofen with the Methylprednisolone can increase his risk of stomach ulceration, according to the FDA and taking Soma with Tramadol may increase the amount of sedation he experiences, so he may experience a lot of dizziness and drowsiness. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am prescribed 15mg of mobic daily I accidentally took another one today the first one was at 0800 am and then I messed up and took one at 6:15 pm. Should I be concerned and should I skip my dose in the morning. I have taking this pill for a few years. ## Hello, Rodney! How are you? Did you experience any adverse affects? You should always inform your doctor of such an occurrence, to be safe, though doing so once it's usually considered a major issue. It can, however, increase the amount and severity of the side effects that you experience, which as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. ## It's usually NOT considered a major issue. My apologies, I'm starting to hate my computer!

It's not a Percocet opiate or any other narotic! It is a basic muscle relaxer. Somas work the best for muscle problems. Don't let them say no or screw u. You will barely notice anything from this substitute!!!! ## Mobic is not a muscle relaxant, it contains the active ingredient Meloxicam, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that's used to treat pain, fever and swelling. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Is there anything I can help with?

I was prescribed prednisone and an antibiotic for a sinus infection. The Methylprednisone came in the 6-day pack of 4 mg pills. However, my prescription said "1 tablet a day" so I assumed I should take 1 a day for 21 days instead of following the instructions inside the pack. Is this a normal dosage? ## No, usually it is still prescribed to be taken as instructed on the package, however, only your doctor can say definitively. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, insomnia, nervousness, fluid retention and acne. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I was prescribed metylprednisone for smell loss. After the first dose my remaining smell started to fade away. So I stopped taking them. Is this common? I will never know if I have inflam...

i was 55kgs just before two days i was feeling bodyache and take the medicine1. etoshine 90 2.Riecal CZ 3.EVION LC and after two days found my weight 59 Kgs. I want to know that whether these medicines are responsible for gain in weight and reduction in fatiuge. ## HI, Meenu! How are you? It was most likely due to taking the Riecal, which is a multivitamin nutritional supplement. If you were a little underweight due to not taking in enough nutrients in your diet, then getting enough of them from this supplement could have caused the slight weight gain and it would most likely also cause an increase in energy. But you should consult your doctor to be certain, since a rapid weigh gain could also be the sign of other possibly dangerous health conditions. Is there anything else I can help w...

I have taken Indomethacine for chronic inflammation (possible spondylitis) for 3 weeks and it seemed to make the pain worse than while taking Advil. I switched to Meloxicam and have been taking it for a week. Again, no relief and perhaps it's even worse! Is it possible for these drugs to worsen the pain? How long does it generally take to get relief while taking these meds? ## Unfortunately, some people do experience the opposite of the intended effects from any given medication. It could be that you may need to explore other treatment options. The FDA lists other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, headache, stomach irritation and increased risk of bleeding. Have you only tried NSAIDs, so far?

Checking if OK to take these together: meloxicam 15 mg, naproxen 500 mg, and benedryl 25 mg ## No, you shouldn't take the Meloxicam and the Naproxen together, both of those are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications, so it's basically doubling up on the same thing and is completely unnecessary. Additionally, they both increase blood thinning and taking them together heightens that effect, they also both increase serum potassium, which is also heightened by taking both and too much potassium building up in your body is very dangerous. The Meloxicam also increases your levels of the Naproxen… You can learn more Meloxicam details here and you can learn more Naproxen details here. I hope that is enough to give you the idea that combining them is a bad idea. :-)...

I am planning to attend a family wedding this coming weekend. I have been on Celebrex for possible arthritis in my knees for about a week. One capsule, once a day. I would like to have a few glasses of wine at the wedding! Should I stop taking Celebrex for a few days and then begin use again after the wedding? How long does the Celebrex typically stay in your system? Is definitely working and helping me be able to wake up every morning with that stiffness in my joints! But I don't want to drink while on it.

After my injection last night I woke up. Extremely nauseated. And have been so very tired. I have been on enbrel for a few months now and have not experienced this nausea. Any thoughts? Thank you. ## Hello, Barbara! How are you? I'm sorry about what you experienced. Those can be side effects of this medication and it is always possible to experience them, at some point, even if you didn't have them at first. Sometimes, it just takes awhile for our bodies to react to something, your body may have changed slightly, or there may have been other factors that contributed, such as being overheated, too much activity, taking some other medication… it's hard to say. I'm on a 6 day 4mg pack of methylprednisolone. It was given to me for sciatic and nerve relief. I just finished day 2, still have horrible pain, trouble walking, using the bathroom, get random headaches and diarrhea. The only way I am semi-comfortable is when I am laying on the side that hurts. I haven't had pain in my back, only from my thigh to toes. I still feel the pain when I stand and sit. The only relief I get is when I keep the leg bent while laying on it. I'm desperate for any advice. I've been to the er 4 times, given every muscle relaxer pill, and a shot of morphine. I am scheduled for an mri after the 6 days are up, but freaked out because laying on my back is extremely painful. ## Hello, Hollie! How are you? Meloxicam, however, is just a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation.
