Hi there I need some help. How long did Enbrel take to start working for you for Ankylosing Spondilitis back Pain? Really appreciate your help. Thanks ## It took me about 3-4 weeks for it to fully work. But, I was told it varies. usually 2-6 weeks. It has taken away the most excruciating pain I have ever felt. You should however study all that you can about this medicine & always do your best to maintain a clean lifestyle due to enbrels suppression of your immune system. Simply put if something or someone looks dirty or seems sick, distance yourself. I have been on Enbrel for about 4 yrs. & have same medical issue. Feel free to post back if you have any other questions. ## I took enbrel but got very bad side effects I took for a s I was on it for 1 year

My prescription for methylprednisolone tablets have not been opened. I got it on 8/29/16. Is it ok to take? It says it expires on 03/18. ## What condition do you want to take it for? If it has not been opened and has not expired, it should be fine, but only a doctor can tell you when it would be appropriate to take it. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, nervousness, palpitations, insomnia, weight changes, mood swings, and fluid retention. Are you on any other medications?

Hi, I was prescribed meloxicam for my tailbone pain. I took one 7.5mg dose and that gave me the worst panic attack. I am not taking it anymore but i still feel very anxious and I am not myself anymore. It has been 5 days since i took the dose. Will this take time to go away? Do I need any other treatments for these side effects? ## It has been known to cause anxiety/panic attacks, in some people that take it, according to FDA reports, but it is very rare. It is also very unusual for it to linger that long after having taken just one dose. Its other side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation. Have things improved, yet? Are you on any other medications? ## It's a lot better now but I still have anxiety ...

I have recently quit taking pain meds that I have taken for the past ten years. I was up to 8 Vicoprofen and 4 Tramadol every day. I was so tired of getting up and felling horrible from the toxins in the opoides that I just don't want to do it anymore. However, now I have to deal with how painful it is without the meds and how tired I am. I shower every morning and try to take a 2 mile walk each day, but I am too tired and sore to keep it up. I was hoping a good NSAID would help me, but am so afraid it will have severe physical affects...possibly non-reversible. The side effects on the bottle are nothing compared to the research I have found on the computer. I watched my mother go thru many months of daily dialysis and then eventually chose to quit and she passed away by drowning in...

My doctor diagnosed me with RA October 2011 and prescribed Meloxicam 15mg. I asked for the bloodwork to show my pain doctor and was told by his PA that my bloodwork does not show I have RA. I am in complete shock!!! 1st, why would he do this and 2nd, will taking this for all these years without having RA cause issues? I am having bouts of diarrhea and just had a colonoscopy and an upper GI is scheduled next month. I have extreme shortness of breath but doctor says it is my nerves & there is nothing wrong with me although I pulled reports from where I get all my tests and it shows emphysema, COPD, degenerative disc disease, bone spurs, mild scoliosis and endobronchial mucous plugs in both lungs. I was hospitalized in 2013 with COPD and he says it was asthmatic bronchitis. I just found o

I ordered this drug under the name of Celebrex from a Canadian pharmacy and it was available over the counter. When I look at other Canadian pharmacies it says you need a prescription for all of them. What is this product? ## Hi pat - can you please clarify what is meant by the title you used "Code no hr drugs 325 osp h" ? Is this what is actually written on your medication label? Can you please say exactly what the label says if that is not the case? Some drugs are considered over the counter in other countries, whereas other pharmacies may have a similar drug which requires a prescription. Can you please share as many details as you can about the drug in question? ## That is what is on the packaging that it came in. It was packaged 10 to a package as they are small. That is th...

I"m a 70 year old female. Very active. Runner, short triathlons, lift weights and otherwise have a very active (hard working) lifestyle. I have been taking 15mg. Meloxicam tablet on average about two per week for about 6 years. Of course, I"m concerned about the side effects I"ve read about for long term use. Does taking them only two per week mitigate these side effects even if I"ve been taking them for a long period of time? ## Hello, Judy! How are you? There is still some slight risk, but most of what you read about are effects from daily long-term use, not occasional. That's why others, such as Ibuprofen are available over the counter. The most common include liver damage, stomach damage, increased risk of bleeding and stomach ulceration. Is there anything else I...

I would like to know are there any side effect to this drug and does it help or cure arthritis and what other benifits does this drug have it is for my mother who is aged 58 and suffers from arthritis and build up acidity and gas in tummy. ## All mediations, even those available over the counter, carry the risk of side effects. Etoshine contains the active ingredient Etoricoxib, this is a Cox-2 selective inhibitor used to treat pain and inflammation, so this is meant to help with her arthritis pain and swelling. Some common side effects can include: nausea, drowsiness and headache. For back pain, how often is it safe to use the 8mg. methylprednisolone dose pack? I am 65 y/o female in fairly good health except for spinal stenosis, chronic bronchitis and mild hypertension. I had a 2 epidurals 2 months ago and not time to have it repeated for 3 more months. ## You should only take it as directed by your doctor, it can be repeated, if they approve of your doing so, but you should always be careful to check with them. The FDA lists its typical side effect as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight gain, fluid retention and elevated blood pressure. Are you on any other medications?

I hurt my knee and I just started taking meloxicam. The doctor said to take extra strength Tylenol. I have some Tylenol 3 that I had for my jaw. Can I take it with meloxicam? ## Tylenol 3 contains Codeine, alone with Acetaminophen, according the FDA lists. Thus it would be best not to take it, unless your doctor instructs you to do so. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is the Meloxicam helping? What type of knee injury did you experience?

I've took meloxicam for five days for a toothache and discontinued use two days ago I'm having pain again is it ok to take a ibuprofen ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? It should be fine, as long as your prescriber approves. It's usually taking them at the same time, together, that may cause problems, according to the NIH, such as liver damage, liver failure, increased risk of bleeding, stomach irritation, and stomach ulceration. When are you having the tooth fixed? ## I just started taking meloxicam 15mg daily (supposed to be for a month for plantar fasciatis on both heels). The doctor specifically told me to stop taking ibuprofen, naproxen or any other NSAID. He said I can take tylenol. So, I would check with the doctor who prescribed the meloxicam. I accidentally took two 15 mg tabs of Meloxicam tonight. I don't feel bad or anything unusual, do I need to go to the E.R.? ## Unless you experience an allergic reaction, or sudden bleeding, that would usually not be something to go to the ER for, according to NIH reports, but it is always best to double check with your doctor to be sure. Are you on any other medications? Did you experience any adverse effects?
