I am currently taking Meloxicam 7.5. Can I take Soma and Gabapentin together for severe back pain? ## Gabapentin does not work like other analgesics, so it will not alleviate pain like they do. It is actually an anticonvulsant that the FDA has approved to treat certain types of nerve pain, but it takes about 4 to 5 weeks to start helping. Soma may help, if your medical provider has approved of your taking it, but you may experience more side effects than usual, according to NIH reports, which could include nausea, dizziness, and drowsiness. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? ## When was your Soma prescribed? It may be expired. If so, dispose of it properly grind it up in cat litter. Never flush expired medication. You can ask your Pharmacy or local pain management office...

I was unable to continue Aleve after seven years. Pain pills made me to groggy and didn't really work. I was referred to a pain Dr. and was put on Limbrel 500/50mg Two times a day. This has to be the best medicine I have ever taken. I have regained my quality of life. Besides my osteoarthritis it helps me feel so much better, almost normal. I hope those of you who are about to give up hope will try this medication. It's very costly but the Dr. can give you samples and a coupon that will bring the cost down to about $50.00 a month. ## Thank you for sharing your experience with others! Limbrel contains Flavocoxid and Citrated Zinc and is specially formulated to help people that suffer from Osteoarthritis. While it can help with the pain and inflammation, it is actually considered ...

Could meloxicam 15mg be taken alongside 800mg ibuprofen for RA? My Dr prescribed the meloxicam 15mg once daily. I've been taking the ibuprofen 800mg every 4 to 6 hours. Can I take both or is it safer to just take one? ## Since they are both nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories, you should stick with one or the other. According to NIH reports, doubling up increases the risk of blood thinning, bleeding, and stomach ulceration. Have they both been prescribed by the same doctor? Are you on any other medications? ## Hi, I normally take ibuprofen. I took a 15mg Meloxicam this morning and it doesn’t work as well as the ibuprofen. How long do I have to wait to switch back? I have severe lower back pain and sciatica and take Neurontin, Tizanidine and Endocet along with the ibuprofen. 8 hou...

Hi, I’ve been on prednisone dose pack 6 day/4mg. I’m on day 5 and have one pill to take tonight and one tomorrow. Today however my blood pressure has been 130/83 to 151/86 which is abnormal for me and I feel high anxiety. Can I just not take the next two doses and be ok? I’m scared it is going to elevate my blood pressure more at this point. ## Those can be normal side effects, when taking a steroid like this, it would be best to finish your dosing protocol, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. The FDA warns that you may also experience other side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, acne, and weight changes. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? ## Speaking from experience here having been on prednisone on several occasions I can assure you that you...

I just called my pharmacy to renew my Limbrel prescription, only to find out that the FDA has ordered US companies to cease distribution and immediately initiate a recall. What am I going to do now? I have been on Limbrel for 6 years to manage my osteoarthritis pain. Before that, I wore braces on my back, knees, ankles, arms and took an overabundance of NSAID's - and it really didn't relieve any pain. I was unable to enjoy any quality to my life. With Limbrel, I am able to work and have an active social/family life. Now I'm facing that old life again and I'm just wondering what I am going to do? Does anyone know what I can take or do? ## Apparently, the FDA has asked Primus Pharmaceuticals because of liver injury and lung infections due to the use of the drug. Maybe your...

Does anyone know if this pill makes you drowsy? ## no, I take 400mg of Celebrex a day for over a year now and it doesn't make me at all drowsy. ## I took a 400 mg last night before bedtime... it was my first time taking it. It gave me so much energy I could not get to sleep! So I would have to say... no it does not make you drowsy. ## How long does Celebrex take to work for severe back pain? Does it need to build up? I've been on it 2 days with no change. ## Has anybody had any of these symptoms with Celebrex... heart palpitations, pounding, tachycardia or nervousness?

I was give this for a cough/cold. My symptoms are not that severe, so I was thinking of starting with 3 pills and tapering to 2 then 1. Is this dangerous? I just hate the way I feel on prednisone. ## Hello, Eileen! How are you? It would be best to take it as prescribed, starting with 6 tablets and tapering down to 1. This is not Prednisone, it is a steroid, but a different one. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia and acne. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I'm on a 6 day/4mg medril dosepak what can help with the insomnia? ## I only have 7 pills (missed) out of a 6 day 4mg pack of methylprednisolone. I am taking 7.5 mg of mobic once a day and my dr. increased the dosage to 15mg. once a day. Wouldn't it be better to take 1 7.5mg in the a.m. and another 7.5mg in the early evening ? ## My question is the same as Jan's. Can I take 7.5 mg bid for better relief and coverage. I take 15 mg in am and then by night time, the pain is severe again and I cannot sleep. ## yes you can take 1 7.5 in the am and one in the pm. In doing so you will be able to keep the med in your system and it will work threw out the day versus it only helping for part of the day. Also it takes up to three week for a med to be in you system well enough to help you actually start to feel the full effects. ## It really depends on what works for you, I split up most of my medications and take them more than once ...

I have only taken 4 pills of this drug, and since I took it this morning I have been nausea all day long. When I eat (which doesn't sound good) it only relieves the pain temporarily. I've had a dull headache for the past week, should I be concerned? ## Nabumetone is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so what you've described can be normal side effects from it, as well as dizziness and stomach irritation. However, if they are very problematic, then you should consult your doctor, because this may not be the right medication for you, or you may do better with a different dosage. Are there any other questions? ## I took a 500 mg Nabumetone tablet this morning! It is my final dosage of a ten day regimen. I was prescribed methylprednisolone yesterday and took day all 6 pills, now I have a horrible headache. I've had ulcer symptoms before and I take protonix daily, so I take as little excedrin as possible. The headache is horrible. I took an excedrin this morning, and now I want to stop taking the steroid dose pack all together, will that be ok? ## No, you should follow the instructions and taper, otherwise complication can arise that could cause even more serious health issues. Headaches can be a normal side effect of this medication, according to the FDA, along with nausea, dizziness, insomnia and acne. If it's okay with your doctor, you may want to skip Excedrin and try just taking regular Tylenol for the headaches. Is there anything else I can help with? ## How often can a Med...

This medication is listed as containing Ibuprofen, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and Famotidine, which is an antacid. Thus, it may not do much more to help the pain. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness and headache. Have you consulted your dentist, yet? I am 93 and have severe back and neck pain. I had back surgery 15 years ago after a back injury causing back and leg pain. After surgery, the leg pain went away but I still suffer from lower back pain. For a long time I would see the doctor who did my surgery every six months and he would give me a mega shot of cortisone on each side of my lower back which helped the back pain. Since then we moved to Orlando about 130 miles away from the doctor, but now I do not drive since I use a walker. My family doctor has given me hydrocodone-acetaminophen 5/325 and it helps some. I also sometimes take tylenol. Is it safe to take it with the other medication? Thanks for any help you can give me. ## No, you should not combine Tylenol with the Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen, since they both contain Acetam...
