Are Webpages That Sell Prescriptions Online Doing This Legally?

Getting info on some of my Rxs, a few sites popped up that say they can sell the meds over the net and mail them. They have US addresses and phone numbers. Many of them price the meds by the pill, patch, or whatever a single unit would be. I didn't click on them because I was afraid of viruses and ID theft, and also that it might be illegal. Has anyone ever come across this? Is this legal?

NO -- UNLESS YOU HAVE AN RX FROM A LICENSED MD IN THAT COUNTRY THAT MATCHES THE RX THAT COMES WITH THE PACKAGE OF PILLS. When have I seen this? ALMOST never. MY sister's best friend was suffering from Crohn's Disease and need Asacol, then only available outside the US. Her doc was great — how bad can an MD named "Dr Good" be? Neither of them anticipated his taking a long-ago planned two-month vacation. My sister, who wasn't admitted to practice before the Supreme Court SOLELY because of her good looks, asked me. Since I knew the prescribing physician; I knew the drug; I know the girl, I merely had to go back to my reporting days to find out the dosage — nothing like a little old-fashioned "sneak-'n'-leak and photo to get the juice flowin! Actually, I didn't have to do any of this. The Chief Resident for GI pulled it up for me and said. "You didn't need a special code. What I like about you is that you don't act like you're better trained or superior to others because of your position or the solid trail of Ivy tat comes after your name. You've pitched in when you could have sniffed and said, "It's not Psychiatry" — in the ER lots of time and I'll never forget the CODE GREEN day (ALL LICENSED physicians, Residents, Fellows, Staff and Chiefs) REPORT TO ER STAT) where we had a case of glutethemide poisoning and the patient had about an hour, where you appeared from nowhere in the nick of time and we learned that you WERE trained how to treat it by Dr. F.Your override code can get you any pt records in this hospital system." That said, the meds continued without a break.
