Someone told me that as of July 1,2015 if u were being prescribed subutex that unless u were pregnant u would have to be put on suboxone
Hello. my problem is pharmacies. I been on subutex for a year and a half. THE PHARMACY I WAS AT FOR A YEAR. LET ME GO BECAUSE I WASN'T. PREGNANT .AFTER A YEAR. BEEN TOSSED AROUND BACK TO NO PHARMACY. REALLY. SICK LIVE IN OHIO WHAT'S UP WITH THEM I'M 50 AND AFRAID WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN TO MY HEALTH. DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THESE PHARMACY IS ALLOWED TO DO THIS. SOMEONE. PLEASE HELP
Thank you RCVRYDOC. I have never been prescribed suboxone but every time I got it on the streets I didn't react to it very well at all. It always made me breakout in a rash and itch really bad. I never went to the ER for it because I was using it without a scrip. I told my primary care doctor about it I told her that I could let them switch me and prove it to her but she said that she doesn't want anyone to have a bad reaction just to prove it. Thank you for your help.
A letter from your Primary care Doc may work as long as it states they feel a better option for you is the Bupe without Naloxone and the reason why......... Best Wishes!
So what I'd your primary care doctor writes something stating that you can't take the suboxone because you to breakout and itch. Will that work?
Yes there are a few alternatives that have no naloxine ... Like sobsolve <
ya i already had documented stomach issues before i ever took it. so my doc knew i couldnt take the naloxone. he didnt even question it. i am not on it anymore (on 70 mgs of methadone tablets thru private physician) so good luck to those of you for whom this is an issue. get some documentation of any stomach or migraine issues you have!
The new law states a patient must be pregnant, nursing, or have a DOCUMENTED hypersensitivity reaction to naloxone..ie, copy of the report from the emergency room..Generally side effects like headaches, stomach upset, dizziness are related to a dosage that is too high or other opiates haven't completely cleared your system yet, and will pass over a week to 10 days. There are also other meds that can be prescribed to get rid of nausea...Best wishes in recovery!!
this is very discouraging to hear. i absolutely could NOT take suboxone. i had a horrible stomach ache and nausea the ENTIRE time i was on it. these stomach problems went away as soon as i was switched to subutex.
My doctor just told me today that as of July 1st that I will have to be switched from subutex unless I am allergic to the naloxone. This is terrible. I told him suboxone gives me headaches but he just said he has something else I can try. I'm happy with the subutex, it has been great. Idon't think about doing pills anymore or anything and then the law wants to come in and just mess every thing up. Not to mention how much those costs.
I think it's an odd thing for doctor's/pharmacies to start implementing. Especially since there are individuals with allergies to Naloxone, who just can't take Suboxone. I've yet to come across any specific details about this new policy, but something else I find interesting is that Actavis recently came out with a new orange Subutex tablet (153 imprint w/ a half moon logo) that I'm sure wouldn't have been prescribed to patients within the past month only to be switched to Suboxone '30 days later'? Something about that just doesn't seem right. I realize big pharma doesn't necessarily have our best interest in mind as patients/consumers and our well-being, so I guess it wouldn't come as a huge surprise if they did end up pulling this stunt on new & pre-existing Subutex patients. I'd just double check with your doctor/(local) pharmacy though to be on the safe side.
I heard the same thing. Someone please give information.
