Are Metoprolol And Metoprol Generics For Lopressor?
UpdatedThe bottle from last month for my b.pressure medication lists the name as Metoprol but the bottle I just picked for this month lists the name Metoprolol and the pills aren't the same. I switched to a new pharmacy this month and I thought that might be the reason the pills are different. I am not able to go home now and compare the pills by searching for the description. I have one in my daily medication box and I did search it and it came back as a generic version of Lopressor. I feel my pulse is racing and that my B.P. is going up and I know I NEED to take it now. Is Lopressor in both of the medications I listed above?

Lopressor is just a brand name for Metoprolol, so yes, these medications are all the same. The one listed as Metoprol was just an abbreviation.

However, unless you've already completely missed one or more doses, then you are likely just feeling like your blood pressure and pulse rate are elevating, because you're stressing about it, but they most likely really aren't do so.
Please relax and take your medication, as prescribed. :-)
