I'm having surgery and need to know if any of my meds are blood thinners: Guanfacine, Isosorbide Mononitrate ER, Metoprolol, Metformin, Losartan/HCTZ, L-Thyroxine, Atorvastatin Calcium, Meloxicam.

No, but many surgeons will tell you not to take the Meloxicam, before surgery, since it can cause an increased risk of bleeding as a side effect, according to FDA reports. Thus, in most cases you have to stop taking it several days before surgery.

It is best to make sure they know everything you are taking, including the dosages, so they can advise you on what you should, or shouldn't take.

Is there anything else I can help with?
