Apo Metoprolol

I would like to know if this medication can cause a burning sensation on the ankles and the back of your legs. My mom is 86 and when she takes this medication she has severe burning sensation which is only alleviated when she walks.

And it only occurs for awhile after she takes it, or is it there all the time?

Metoprolol is a beta blocker and, like most other blood pressure and cardiac medications, it works by affecting circulation. So, there is a possibility that such action may have something to do with the problem.
