can i aged about75+ take stalopam mini plus twice a day as prescribed? i suffer from depression and other mental problems after death of my only one son. so i took alpazolum first then libotryp. now i am given stalopram. it appears to be better. shall i take just sleep 1mg if sleep does not come. ## Suffering from dizziness and I.balancing doctors only prescribe antidpteession tab from which I get relief bt when I stop it again start. Im now on my 6th day of the 40mg of viibryd. Im using the starter pack like everyone else. I'm on viibryd for OCD so since starting the 40mg I have noticed a decrease in obsessive thoughts. At first the 10 mg and 20mg made my obsessive thoughts worse but now at the therapeutic dose I can feel like I'm slowly getting better. Only side effects I've gotten is increased bowel movements, extremely vivid dreams and some lethargy which is good if your OCD and your always obsessing. I feel confident that this medicine will work and I might even ask to go up to 60mg just so my OCD can be manageable. ## hi, Steve! Hello, I started taking Effexor solely for anxiety about 7 years ago (75 mg). At the age of 23 I decided I wanted to attempt life without a medication for anxiety. My doctor cut my dosage in half (37.5 mg). Although I feel like I am doing ok with the half dosage in the area of anxiety, I feel different than I did before taking Effexor. I am extremely irritable, I don't feel like myself, and just feel (for lack of better terms) BLAH! I am so worried that I either have to stay on Effexor 75 mg for life or live this -blah- life. Has anyone ever experienced these feelings after decreasing the dosage? I have been on Effexor xr for 15 years, started at 150mg for about a year & was like a zombie, switched to 75mg where I've been for the past 14years, I've gained so much weight it is killing me, my doctor did every diagnostic - thyroid, PCOS that could possibly make me gain after eating right & running 5k a day. The scale stays the same or rises, we did a hormone evaluation & came to the conclusion that for lack of a better word my metabolism is shot, which can be a side effect of long term Effexor use. I'm prescribed several medications. Cymbalta 60mg, Adderall 15mg xr to take in the morning, Adderall 20mg to take at 3:00pm, Lisinopril 40mg, Prilosec 20mg, Zyrtec 10mg, and Flexeril 30mg. I take all of these meds everyday. Is it possible that any of these medications can show up as a Benzo on a UA test? ## Sorry I forgot I also take Seroquel 300mg xr.

How are you? In your other post that I answered, you didn't mention being on medications. The problem you're having could be due to the Zoloft, it has been known to cause these types of issues as side effects. The FDA lists the other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and weight gain. You may do better if you speak to your doctor about trying a different medication. They don't contain it, that's the chemical salt they're derived from, you'll see it frequently on many medications, Fluoxetine Hydrochloride is the active ingredient in Prozac, but it is still just one ingredient, not two. The FDA lists the typical side effects of most antidepressants as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am on day 21 of Prozac. I also take 90 mg. Cymbals, 300 mg lithium and clonazepam as needed. After starting the Prozac I am so exhausted I can hardly function. My doc wants me to up the Prozac to 40mg. I have had major depression most of my life. I feel I'm overestimated, and none of it is helping much anyway. Thoughts? Thank you. ## Hello, Suzy! How are you? Prozac has been known to cause that as a side effect, as listed by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and weight loss. However, it should improve once you're on one steady dose for about 4 to 5 weeks and your body gets used to the medication. Adding it to the other medications has likely increased its drowsy effect, as well. What type of doctor are you seeing?

Generally, these two would not be considered safe to combine, because they both have effects on serotonin and if the levels of it in the brain are elevated too much, it can cause serotonin syndrome, which can be fatal. I have been on citalopram 20mg since april 2014 For about a week now my anxiety has returned , very similar to the initial side effects i experienced over the first couple of weeks of taking it. Could it be a sign my dose is too high or need to increase it - something i dont really want to do. I have tried several anti-depressants and have yet to feel better. Started with Xanax years ago but only took it for a little while. Didn't take anything for 20 years. Now within the last two years I have tried Effexor, prozac, welbutrin and now viibryd. Only been on it for 3 weeks and still feel crappy. Mood is ok but so fatigued that I about can't go. I had an episode 9/13 where I became unresponsive and then was just in and out. I felt drugged and numb. Had weened off prozac and started viibryd. After spending 4 hrs in ER and having blood and urine evaluated and X-rays the dr said he thinks it may have been a reaction because of prozac was still in system.
