Had my last 20mg dose of escitalopram (generic for Lexapro) 6 days ago, which I was taking to help mediate menopause symptoms including hot flashes (it worked, too!) I have a pre-employment 5 panel urine drug screen test this afternoon. Will the escitalopram test positive for any drugs? Or will it have sufficiently flushed through my system any way (based on its half life of 27 - 32 hours)? Do I need to disclose it (I'd prefer not to if possible)?

My husband became sepsis with sections of dead intestines, after using Viibyrd for 1 month. He died 9 days later. ## Hello, Jeanette! How are you? I am so very sorry for your loss. That's horrible! The FDA does list that this mediation can cause gastroenteritis, which is a type of intestinal infection, but it's usually self-limiting and goes away within a few weeks. Was he experiencing severe diarrhea at any point? Sepsis usually denotes a bacterial infection that has run rampant throughout the body. Did the doctors have any idea of what caused it? ## I have no words. My thoughts and prayers to you. I will immediately stop viibryd 20mg which I have taken 16 days with unimaginable stomach upset. ## I am okay, thank you. My husband remained rather subdued during the month and trie...

I fell asleep at my work desk one day due to the fatigue. I was put on b12 shots and cymbalta. not helping. It's also my neck and shoulders. Nothing even seems to put a dent in it. I'm taking to many NSAIDS. I can't sleep at night. I have adhd and insomnia as well. What are some meds I can talk about with my dr? Can you give me any advice? I am very desperate. First day (morning) after taking Viibryd. Took my first 10 mg last night before bed. Slept ok. No weird nightmares. Regular 6/7 hours of sleep. But I do take Ambien. Did not take with food and was OK. Woke up with tummy hurting and had to go to the bathroom twice. (they're right on that part). But... best of all- I def. feel so much happier after just one dose. Not sure yet how it will work on my panic attacks/anxiety but so far I am hopeful. After trying just about all the other SSRI's that always did not work for one reason or another... I am hoping this one just keeps getting better. Worked fast. I usually wake up very lack luster. Today... I woke up happy. Big difference!!! And that was just the first dose. I will check back after a week to update. I was def nervous taking t...

I was prescribed Lexamil 5mg and I took 1 on the 11.11.2010 before reading the prescription note. I am feeling so overweight, and my bowel movement is totally altered. How long does the effects last? Alternatively how do I reverse this? ## Lexamil contains the active ingredient Escitalopram, it is an antidepressant. Yes, many of them can cause some weight gain, however, taking on pill is not enough to have that effect. It may have caused some bloating and intestinal upset, however, these are normal side effects and should wear off in a few weeks as your body adjusts to the medication. There is also no way to reverse it, other than to just stop taking it for awhile. Have you spoken to your doctor about this? ## I have been on Lexamil for about 18 months now and I struggle terribly with m...

Have stopped taking Mirtazapine because of excrutiating pain in my legs whilst on it. I have had cold / freezing feet for years but when on Mirt my feet were always warm and toasty. Does anyone know why this should be and what ingredient would have been responsible?? It was lovely to have warm feet and be able to wear little shoes rather than boots and socks all the time and I would take a 'warm feet' pill if I knew of one provided it didn't have painful side effects! ## Hello, Lesley! How are you? It sounds like you may have Raynauds Phenomenon, which is a syndrome where your circulation is kind of screwed up, so your hands and feet get cold easily. It can happen due to various weather conditions, medications, or emotional stress, as reported by the NIH. I suffer from it my...

I have pretty bad anxiety with menopause. The hormones are off the wall but no night sweats or any other symptoms. I am on Zoloft and now my OBGYN put me on the Combipatch. I am on it for 2 1/2 weeks and have been doing great and then I got an anxiety attack. Does anyone know why? ## Hi Irene, I use to get panick attacks really bad. My doctor told me it can be caused by anxiety or stress. He put me on Klonopin, which is a benzodiazepine. It's helped me really well. I was also told that regular exercise can help with anxiety and stress. ## P.S. If there's no improvement or it gets worse, speak to your doctor about it. ## Hello, Irene! How are you? Your hormones fluctuate throughout the month, so you most likely had a sudden change in the levels of them in your body, which cause y...

Today I picked up my refill. I have been taking 1 twice a day since 1999. In all those years through different drug company changes, the pill has always been a round med-large white pill. I called Walmart to make sure I got then correct pill (four times over the years me and my mom got the wrong pill, with the right label). The representative argued with me rudely stating the pill has to be right, because they never make mistakes. I told her yes they have. She rudely said, you can go on the internet and check the code. I was insulted and told her I will bring it back and check with the pharmacist. My question is what pharmaceutical company distributes this purple pill code E-415? I haven't been able to find it, please help. Thanks ## I have just started my first cycle of Bupropion S...

I was prescribed trazodone 100mg, then my doctor gave me another prescription that read trazodone 100mg QP. What does the QP stand for? ## Usually, that means it to be taken once daily, at night. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight changes. The drowsiness it causes is why your usually directed to take it at night. Is there anything else I can help with?

Has anyone experienced weakness in their legs? ## The FDA does report that as being a possible side effect of Nortriptyline. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, fatigue, blurred vision and dry mouth. If it severe, you may want to speak to your doctor as it could be that it's not the right medication for you, however, mild side effects are usually transient and go away with time, as your body gets used to a medication. Is there anything else I can help with?

Pill is round and light green with a capital M on one side with u12 below the m, the other side is blank and the pill is not scored. ## I have been taking these pills for almost 4 weeks now at 150mg (bupropion SR made by MYLAN), twice daily (300mg total) & they said it would help with the sexual side effects of my daily dose of Lexapro (20mg). It's not working. I have been really disappointed. Should I continue to take them or have my doctor change me to something else... all these questions are running through my mind. I went to look at the MYLAN company who makes them & they don't even have a picture of the pill! As a matter of fact, I couldn't find it on Drugs.com either... has anyone taken 60mg of cymbalta and it stopped working? lve been on them 4 years and lm having feelings of depression and anxiety ## It is completely normal for your body to eventually get used to the dosage of any medication that you've been taking for a long time, so it no longer works as well. When this happens, you'll either need to take a higher dosage, or switch to a different medication. When it happens depends on your own body and its individual characteristics, some people can go years without having to have a dosage or medication change and others only make it a few months.
