Hello all :) I have been desperately searching for information & reassurance as to why I am experiencing such a nightmare ordeal after being taken off Lexapro by my doctor, cold turkey. I have been taking 10-20mg for years. This week (since cessation - 10 days ago) I have been to the doctor 3 times and the hospital on Thursday night - convinced I am dying! I feel SO tired that I can barely lift my head at times. I have horrible headaches - frequent "brain zaps" (thought I was having a stroke). I was throwing up and lived next to the toilet for 2 days.... I get "rushes" of what feels like adrenalin (?) that crawls down my arms and then tingles in my hands and finger tips. I am dizzy - I am aching (joints) - I feel like my head is clogged and I have a horrible flu viru...

I have been taking doxepin for about 3 months. I gained over 30 pounds. I stopped taking it this week. Has anyone had this problem? Did the weight come off after you stopped taking it? How did you do it? ## Hello, Sophie! How are you? Most antidepressants, regardless of their class type, are known to cause weight gain. But yes, it usually does fall off, once you stop taking it, though it may take a month or two. Have you tried any others? There are some, such as Wellbutrin and Prozac that don't usually cause the weight gain, but can treat the same types of conditions. Their typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hello. I have a question. I just started taking Doxepin and I...

I've been taking Wellbutrin XL 300mg since the middle of March and for the last month or so I've noticed I'm losing a lot of hair and my hair has thinned out a lot. It's getting to the point that I'm scared of brushing it. Does anyone know if this will get better or will I have to quit the medication? I really like how well Wellbutrin works but I don't want to be bald! ## Hello, Cheyenne! How are you? Yes, as reported by the U.S. FDA, this medication has been known to cause hair loss, in some people that take it, you may also experience dizziness, headache and mood swings. I've been taking Lexamil 20mg once a day for a few years now and it has really assisted me in controlling my anxiety attacks. I very rarely have an attach and if so, only mild ones. yesterday evening i took one extra tablet by mistake where i usually take Trazodone in the evening. This means that i have taken 20mg of Lexamil yesteday morning, again yesterday evening and again this morning, so instead of the normal 40mg in 24 hours i had 60mg. I did not take my Trazodone yesterday evening. I just want to know if i have overdosed? ## Hello, Stella! How are you? Did you suffer any adverse effects? That is a high dose to take in 24 hours, but it most likely wouldn't do more than make you sick. However, it would be best to double check this with your doctor to be sure. ## Hey I take ...

Found a small round pink pill with p/a on one side and c on the other side , what could it be? ## Based on the description provided, the closest match I could find is identified as Paroxetine (20mg), manufactured by Aurobindo Pharma. This specific medication is a round vibrant-pink pill imprinted with C on one side and 5/6 on the other side. I'm just wondering if perhaps the "6" was mistaken for an upside down P or if the "5" could even be an A? Apparently it's said to be a very small pill. Maybe smaller than a Benadryl tablet. Does anyone else recognize this pill? ## Hi there, I know exactly the ones you mean. Found one in my bag this morning, and checked against my Propranolol tablets I have for anxiety and it's that. They're 10mg strength and manufactu...

I have been taking venlafaxine from Qualitest, the generic for Effexor for at least a decade and the brand prior the generic becoming available with no issues- it worked with no noticeable side affects. Then Publix corporate greed to save a few pennies a pill switched to Nortstar extender without even informing me. By the time I figured it out that Nothstar's venlafaxine was causing my high, depression, chronic fatigue, constant malaise, internal organ and external varieties of pains I had already suffered through many months of these and more shellfish symptoms. Whether it is a placebo and just suddenly cut off all supply of absolutely necessary decade +long drug in my system or contained harmful fillers-who knows for sure. But for certain it messed up my system and life for along time

My doctor just switched me from Lexapro 20 mg to Citalopram 20 mg for cost reasons as I do not have coverage. It's only been a week and I'm feeling weepy at the drop of a hat...what is the difference in the drug and am I on the right "switch over" dosage? Thanks. ML ## Both of these medications are manufactured by Forest Pharmaceuticals, Inc.. However Lexapro is noted by a number of sources to be a cleaner, improved version of Citalopram. It is the active isomer of racemic Citalopram. Many user reviews I've come across report that Citalopram compared to Lexapro just makes them feel tired and "drugged", per say; while Lexapro allows you to be more mobile. Do you feel like this is a true statement, based on the equal dose you've been taking? Additional info...

Hello All, I was prescribed the generic for lexapro at 10mg daily about a month ago. The first week I felt an increase in anxiety symptoms but after about 2 weeks I felt that the drug was working for me. However, recently events have transpired in my life that have greatly affected my overall anxiety/wellbeing due to someone I care about finding themselves in a horrendous situation. Since this circumstance, I have found that I am in a constant state of worry and fixation on the event, with crying episodes happening frequently. Because what I am going through at the moment, I am choosing to stop lexapro because it is having no effect on my mood and I do not think any drug could influence my mood positively because it is from an external source. I am starting to believe I may not even hav...

I wanted to know if Sertraline is similar to a Xanax? My boyfriend recently got prescribed Sertrailine HCL 50 mg (tablet L U D02) for his panic attacks and anxiety. He told me it was like taking a xanax that he was once prescribed before. I was wondering if they were similar? ## Hi Cherish, Even though your boyfriend said that the drugs feel similar for him, Sertraline (brand name Zoloft) and Alprazolam (brand name Xanax) are actually in 2 different drug classes. As a side note, the NDC code of the tablet which you have described is 68180-352. Sertraline is considered an SSRI antidepressant most commonly prescribed for depression, but it can also be prescribed for anxiety or panic disorder. Alprazolam is considered a benzodiazepine prescribed to treat anxiety. So all in all they are qui...

Has anyone had any success with Roboxitine ## Hello, Ann! How are you? The FDA classifies this as an NRI class antidepressant and have never approved it for use here in the U.S. due to the fact that it's efficacy has been challenged in multiple studies and reports. Thus, I find it doubtful that many people have gotten much help from it for anything. Many have found it to be no more effective than a placebo. Has anyone tried this medication? Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, excessive sweating and constipation. ## I've just had a terrible time after being prescribed Reboxetine by my physchatrist. I was on Traz for about 5 months. I went from 50 mg down to 25 mg and then quit all together about a week or so ago. I can tell my anxiety is in part due to getting off Traz. Any idea how long I can expect to have these withdrawal symptoms? ## Mike, Not to discount your feelings nor the anxiety you experiencing however trazadone taken at such a nominal dose for a relatively short period of time should pose no pharmacological withdrawal on the body.Untreated anxiety can be accentuated by many environmental factors. If these symptoms persist I'd highly recommend seeing a specialist to evaluate your condition and decide if pharmaceutical intervention is deemed appropriate. All the best
