Hi Everyone, Recently had a crisis situation where I had been tried on numerous sleeping pills unsuccessfully and with terrible anxiety and depression. Now on 50 mg of zoloft and 100 mg of seroquel together for 3 days. I seem to be able to feel when the depression begins to ease up already but I am experiencing terrible panic and heightened anxiety in its place. My anxiety focuses a lot on death and age as triggers but just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience of increased anxiety? Will it eventually go away? Also not sure if zoloft will help with my specific fear and anxiety so has anyone else used it successfully for a similar purpose? ## It takes time, but you should be able to call your Dr. hotline and they will help you. Probably give you something like Clonzepam, ...

Hi, I have been on 20mg of Citalopram (Celexa) for a year and starting to come off them. I was taking 2 x 10 mg tablets a day. So I started by alternating 2x10mg one day followed by 1x10mg the next day and alternating for a few weeks. Well that was the plan, but I felt no side effects after 3 days so figured I could go down to 10mg a day. I was on 10mg a day for about 3 days and had no withdrawal symptoms, so again figured I had this tapering stuff sorted and then decided to go to 10mg every other day. Then it hit me, I felt like I had the flu... which is my main question, people talk about side effect symptoms like brain zaps and nausea, I havent had any of those. But I feel achy and lethargic and cannot sleep. But also have a really bad cough. I have never seen anyone mention a cough ...

Hi, I have been depressed for 5 years, almost 6 now. My illness has been very resistant to medical treatment. I have tried a variety of antidepressants and had no results. Now I have been on 150mg of amitriptyline for half a year. It has been THE WORST medication for me. This one has made my suicidal thoughts and overall depression even worse! I can feel my mood drop significantly when I miss a dose, and tapering off this medicine has been a nightmare. I recently saw my psychiatrist yesterday. We made a plan to slow down the tapering process by going down 10mg a week. Last night was my first dose of 140mg, and I really cannot tel if it is just the natural course of my overall illness or if it is making me worse again. Or what if it's just the medicine in general? I don't know if...

I am worried if there would be any negative drug reactions. My 30 year old son been taking gabapentine for 18 months and dr just prescribed the mirtazapine. also add had been diagnosed and untreated for years and I am looking for a natural medicine and have recently read about synaptol. Dr gave me the antideppressents instead of any add meds because of history of drug abuse. ## I can't provide you with any information on the Synaptol, since it is a natural product, it isn't tested for side effects and possible interactions, as is done for prescription medications. So, on that I can only advise that his doctor be consulted, before using it. As to the Mirtazapine and the Gabapentin, they can be used together, but the doctor does have to carefully consider the dosage, due to the fa...

I have been on viibryd for a week and have been having awful headaches. I am wondering if it is safe to take a leftover hydrocone from a dental procedure. ## Hello, Mary! How are you? I'm sorry about the headaches. I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these medications, but it's always best to double check with your doctor to be sure. Viibryd has been known to cause migraines, in some people that take it, according to the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dry mouth, weight changes, palpitations, decreased libido and night sweats. However, they should taper off, after a few weeks, when your body gets used to the medication. If not, you should speak to your doctor as it may not be the right medication for you. The FDA classifies Hydrocodone/Acetaminophe...

My psychiatrist prescribed Viibryd today, and I took my first dose with a meal a few hours ago. He said that Viibryd can cause stomach pain, but the pain will go away. I had gastritis and colitis in the past a few times. I have some stomach pain or cramps now. Could Viibryd damage my stomach or GI tract? ## Yes, there is a chance that it might, that is a risk with most medications, according to NIH studies. You may also experience dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and weight changes. Do you take any other medications? Have you tried anything to alleviate the stomach issues? What medications have you taken for the gastritis? ## A few years ago, when I had had gastritis and colitis a few times (well before I started Viibryd), my internist recommended that I go on a low fiber, bland, no dair...

trazodone and methadon mix well?or will it kill me ## Im on methadone and Trazadone and have been passing out in seconds of taking the trazadone waking up at table, computer, etc with bruises on face is it cause of the mixture? ## First... take the medications sitting on the bed, ready for sleep. Second, you don't mention what strengths you are taking of each. 20 mg of Methadone and 50mg of Trazodone should not hurt you... if you sleep well then great... if you only sleep for a couple of hours then you should consult your Dr. ## For anyone experiencing an issue like this, it is very important that you consult your doctor immediately, regardless of the dose. Both of these medications may cause depression of the central nervous system, that could cause severely lowered blood pressure ...

Hi, I have a drug screening test to become a walgreens pharmacy tech. I took 100 mg of amitriptyline last night to help me sleep. It wasn't until I woke up that I realized opiates come up on test. Everything would be fine if I actually had a prescription for it.....I know very stupid. Can anyone pls tell me how long it will take for my system to be clean. ## Hi Marie! Amitriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant, and the generic for Elavil. There is no opiate in it. A couple of the off-label uses for it are for chronic pain and insomnia. Some drug screenings detect tricyclics and SSRIs, and some only detect controlled substances and illegal drugs. Since you only took one, it probably won't show up even if the screening kit is one that will detect tricyclics and SSRIs. And if it d...

CIPLA got approval from the FDA to produce their generic version of Wellbutrin XL on August 30, 2016. I have made an inquiry to CIPLA as to whether their approval also means that they met the bioequivalence testing that other generic manufacturers had to comply with after Teva/Impax was pulled off the market in Sept. 2012 -- and Actavis (now owned by Watson) was removed Oct. 2013. [Second Generic Version of Popular Antidepressant to be Pulled from Market for Bioequivalency Issues]. Not sure if they have this problem corrected. I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. Have suffered with both for years. There are times when I don't have enough energy to get out of bed for days. Plus, sleep for 24 to 36 hrs straight. Only to go to bathroom then back to sleep. I have no quality of life. Used to travel for my career and never stopped. This doing nothing is not me. Biochemic cell salts is working for the FIBRO. Any suggestions? Willing to try anything. Am now looking at natural meds. Several are available but don't know what is best. Very confused. I've been on Cymbalta 60mg for my Rheumatoid Arthritis and chronic back pain. It took a few weeks to get over the initial side effects and then I did fine. The last few months I've been having weird symptoms that neither of my Drs can figure out. I have these days where it seems like hard labor just trying to breath. My pulmonologist says there is nothing wrong with my lungs but I have to be on oxygen at night and often in the afternoons. The fatigue is overwhelming. Then there are the waking dreams. If I fight to stay awake I will sort of halucinate. These aren't side effects of other drugs. I take very little pain meds as they don't do much good. I started on 5mgs of Brintellix in February. All my anxiety was gone after the first few days but my depression remained bad. I gradually brought my dose up to 20mg 6 weeks ago and yesterday my depression was almost gone. I also have roller-coaster downs on this tab. Hopefully it's kicked in. The only thing is I can't sleep. I take Zolpidem 10mg at 12am and Urbanol 10mg when I wake up at 3:30am. My sleep is restless as I look after my mom and dad in their 80's. My mom has silent stroke dementia, so my day is very stressful. I'm in a bad mood which is not normal for me but think it's stress from caring for my folks. I keep thinking I should try going off Brintellix and see if I'll do any better... ## Most of the medications in this class can cause that for a few w...

I started on Lexapro 5mg then quickly to 10mg for derealization/depersonalisation depression about 15 months ago. It wore off really fast and my doctor put me on Pristiq. It didn't really hit the spot straight away but over time I felt back to my normal self. I started getting more frequent brain fog and upped the dose until I was on 200mg a day but after a while any amount of Pristiq made me fatigued dizzy and it got worse until I'd get more brain fog, extreme fatigue, dizzy, nausea, sweats and vomit. I've gone cold turkey for 2 day's now. No brain fog at all now but still dizzy and extremely fatigued constantly.
