I've been taking it for about a month and feel sooo much better. The only side effect I've experienced is loss of sexual desire ## I would rather have the feeling of well being than sex. To have both would be great but ya can't always get what you want. ## Try Cymblata..It is a new Antidepressant on the market..results are good ## well i have been taking lexapro for awhile and the first week it made me really sleepy and the no desire thing too but after some time i couldn't tell it was working anymore ## I started having panic attacks 2 yrs ago. I have been on 15mg of lexapro for 2 yrs now. It took about 3...
I don't care what the research states: Wellbutrin causes your period to be late. I'm usually on time with my period, been taking the medicine 2 x a day (300mg) for 6 weeks now, still no period. I took 2 pregnancy test both negative. Several women on blogs are experiencing this same problem. I'll post again after I get my period, so you can have a timeline. I hope this helps. ## Hello, BryantsGrl! How are you? Menstrual irregularities are listed in the detailed side effect information and many of the antidepressants tend to lengthen the menstrual cycle in women. Your period may also be slightly heavier and last a little longer than normal. Menstrual irregularities associated with bupropion treatment: [1] Pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/1899086 [2] MedlinePlus ## But what about having...
After 20 years of taking amitriptyline for headaches I would like to find people who have had any heart related side effects after long term amitriptyline use. ## Very little is known about the long-term effects of most drugs for depression. The biggest problem reported currently is relapse, when the medication is discontinued. You can read more about antidepressants here: As to any cardiac effects, I am only finding warnings that problems may occur if it is used with some specific other medications. Does anyone else know anything about this? ## I have been on Elavil for 20 years and 100mg at bedtime and I don't recommend anyone taking it long term. I have heart palpatations every day which was determined from Dr. that it was hormonal, but I don't believe it. I tried to decrease...
hi to all ive been on mirtazapine for a few months now and i had a drug test a few week ago and its came back positive for amphetamins i dont do drugs except what my doctor gives me im tryin to find any info on internet but no luck thanx for any replies ## Mirtazapine is a tetracyclic antidepressant, so it shouldn't show up on a drug test as anything. I also did some research with our resources, that contain various reports on what medications have shown false positives for certain things and Mirtazapine has not been shown to give a positive test for anything. Where you taking anything else at the time? Even if it was an over the counter product, please post back and let us know, so I can check for you. ## I take 45mg Avanza on prescription before bedtime each day. I also failed a d...
Current Bupropion HCL XL150 MB TABGLO are yellow oblong pills that are press-stamped 681. New Rx refill is Bupropion HC XL150 MG Tablets are small white pills tab ink stamped WPI 3331...is there just a difference in manufacturer? ## Yes, that is correct, they are both the same medication, in the same dosage and formulation, just made by different companies. It is common for a pharmacy to switch which one they provide, depending on who was offering the cheapest price whenever they needed to restock. Is there anything else I can help with? ## What exactly is the difference in Bupropion HCL XL and Bupropion SR? ## I have been taking Bupropion HCL XL 150 mg round white tablets for several years. Several months ago, my pharmacist refilled my prescription with a different color and shaped pil...
Like many of you, I struggled through finding the best anti-depressant for my journey. What I've learned is what may work well for you, may not have the same outcome with my body chemistry. SSRI's are most successful in treating my anxiety symptoms; however, the loss for words (brain fog) impacts my professional togetherness. I also experience bladder urgency, fatigue and passivity on them. I've also tried SNRI's with similar outcomes. Thus, whenever my doctor offered Trintellix, I openly gave it a try. Albeit, a lack of alleviation to my anxiety level, this is the first medication that doesn't promote brain fog or fatigue. I promise, I do not work for the company, I just wanted to foster hope. Keep trying if you haven't found your best one. Prayers to all! ## Th...
Hi. Today is my second day taking 150mg of Wellbutrin. Just for a bit of background, I'm 18 years old, afab, weighing 119 lbs, and 5’3” tall. I don't have a history of seizures, I don't drink, but I do vape. I recently noticed that taking Wellbutrin can increase the risk of seizures, and seeing as I have severe hypochondria, this has been making panic. I keep seeing online so many people saying they had a seizure and it made my anxiety about it worse. What would be the probability of me having a seizure? And if it did happen, could it be fatal? ## Have you spoken with your doc about your concerns? No anti-depressant or anxiolytic medicine is without risks. It appears that the risk of seizures with this drug increase with dose. You’re at 1/2 of the recommend...
Hi i am 29 years old I am suffering from Chiari I Malformation My doctor prescribed me the Duloxetine drug, i am taking this since last 7 months i just want to know, is it harmful if i take for a year & which side effects i will be face ? ## You should take the medication as prescribed by your doctor. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings, and weight changes. Are you on any other medications, or just this one? ## I take 60 mg. Duloxetine 1x day. I accidently took 2- 60mg. instead of taking just one. Is there any danger?
What are the differences between Trazodone and Tramadol? Are they the same thing? Do they have similar uses? ## No, they are not the same. Trazodone is an antidepressant that is also used to treat anxiety, and some severe forms of anxiety. (NDC code 0179-1118) The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and weight changes. [1] Ref: MedlinePlus However, Tramadol is an opioid that is used to relieve pain. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, and constipation. It also carries the risk of being habit forming. (NDC code 0093-0058) [2] Ref: MedlinePlus Hope this helps! ## Trazodone is an older anti-depressant. Considered an SARI. It is most widely prescribed nowadays as a non-benzo s...
Do the light green bupropion pills help with opiate withdrawals? ## Bupropion is classifies by the FDA as an antidepressant that is also used to aid in smoking cessation. In order for it to work, it must be taken regularly for several weeks. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and insomnia. That said, no, it likely won't do much to help with withdrawals. I think you may be thinking of Buprenorphine, the active ingredient in Subutex and coupled with Naloxone in Suboxone. It is used to treat drug addition. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## They can help some. No...
I took Prozac a year ago as I had been misdiagnosed as major depression, when in actuality I have Bipolar 1 disorder. At the time I had checked into a psychiatric clinic because I was having a Manic episode I hadn't slept in 4 weeks, maybe one hour a night if that, racing thoughts, Obsessive thoughts, talking quite fast, I was also feeling suicidal. So he put me on 20mg of Prozac, I took the SSRI for about 6 days. I started to have horrible thoughts of murdering my mother, and my dog, the neighbors, and killing myself, and there was a sense of urgency in it without any logic. I have learned that it is called Homicidal akethsia, I did not act upon these psychotic urges because I knew they were not right, I am a deeply sensitive person and it has affected me greatly. I would like to t...
WHAT IS THE PROPER WAY TO GET OFF mirtazapine 15 mg after taking it for 3 weeks? ## Hi Ben, This is just my opinion, but usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. In addition to that, I'd also suggest making yourself a tapering schedule on a calendar to track your progress and keep you on the right path to complete your goal within a specific time frame. Without a way to track your progress, tapering can sometimes be much more difficult than it needs to be. I hope this advice helps! ## Thanks. Your idea is what I w...
How to taper off 15mg of mirtazapine.....take 7.5 mg for awhile???? Slept great. I am 71, healthy but have mild grogginess in the morning and sinus like headache which I have read as a possible side effect. I have been taking mirtazapine 8 months feeling pretty well till headaches began in sinuses. I did have baloon dilation sinoplasty in Feb. in Florida because I suffered with sinus headaches in New England where I live last summer. They went away but had procedure as a proactive measure. Felt well 1 month and half after procedure and headaches started after. ENT said procedure went well look at other options for headaches.. Mirtazapine? ## Hello, Pamela! How are you doing? Yes, it can cause headaches in some people as a side effect and if it's continuing for this long, that means ...
Hello, I am taking 30mg daily before going to bed (male, 43 yo). I have started with a very low dosage of 7.5mg and over the course of about 1.5 months I reached the current level. I experienced clear drowsiness (which is a good as I was having trouble sleeping) and dry mouth from the beginning. While the effect of drowsiness right after taking the pill persists, the dry mouth seems to be mostly reduced (80% from the top at the beginning). The reason why I'm writing is a strange back pain that started about 6-7 weeks ago. Here is why I find it strange and why I would like to hear from others if they experienced it like this: 1. I wake up every morning with acute back pain over all my back (bottom to below the neck) 2. Due to the pain I can hardly move in bed when I wake up. Often it...
I have been taking Cymbalta for 6 yrs. along with Wellbutrin (150mg) Could it cause sores in my mouth? Could it cause my hands to shake once in a while? ## Hi Mary, One of the side effects of Cymbalta (Duloxetine) is an "uncontrollable shaking of a part of the body". It can also cause blisters or peeling skin, rashes, hives, swelling in the face, and unfortunately, much more than this. The link below lists the vast majority of possible side effects, but I would highly recommend talking to your doctor about switching medications or opting for a natural alternative to this prescription if the side effects are too persistent or severe: I hope this info helps! ## I have been taking Cymbalta for many years and I see that I have many of the symptoms. What I fear is that the effect th...
As per AIG Hyderabad I have taken Nexito plus for 6 months, after 6 months I stop nearly for one month. But again I have to take this medicine after a gap of one month due to sleeping problem after consultation with local doctor for another 3 months. Now I want to stop taking this medicine but without taking Nexito plus can,t sleep soundly. Whether again I have to take this medicine? How long I can take this medicine? Plz help me ## Nexito Plus is listed as containing Cloazepam, and Escitalopram, it is used to treat various mental health issues, and some cases of insomnia. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, mood changes, and weight changes. Ref: Clonazepam and Escitalopram information. Many peo...
Whilst researching treatments for depressive disorder I came across a benzo analogue called Tofisopam. It's not prescribed in the UK or indeed in many countries but it sounds as though it may be a helpful med for certain social anxieties. It also has a mild stimulatory action which would be helpful in combatting lethargy often associated with depression, anxiety and low mood. I gather that it is classed as an Atypical form of benzo because it does not cause sedation or drowsiness but effectively combats feelings of anxiousness. It is also not thought to be habit forming and there is no evidence of tolerance building. It sounds too good to be true. A tablet which performs all the actions you would wish of it without any of the ill effects usually associated with other drugs of simila...
I have been on Cymbalta for 7 yrs. For the last 4 yrs I've been on 120mg per day. I have dealt with many, many side effects, however it helped me so much I put up with them. But the last two years I started having severe heart palpitations and extreme bouts of fatigue. I had many cardiac test and was eventually diagnosed with a heart arythemia. And now last month I was diagnosed with adrenal insufficiency with my cortisol levels dangerously low. My FP doctor referred me to a Endocrinologist, but before I could get there I was hospitalized 4 days with pneumonia. Extreme Adrenal insufficiency causes fluid to build in your lungs. Coincidence? I don't know? Has anyone else on Cymbalta had symptoms of Adrenal fatigue? Has anyone else been on Cymbalta for 7-8 yrs? ## Actually, many me...
There are a number of warnings about the possible side effects of taking Amitriptyline - some people get one or more, others none at all. In my case I suffered a migraine on and off every twenty four hours for very many years. About 15 years ago I was prescribed this drug (10mg daily) to ease the symptoms and frequency and initially it seemed to make little difference but I have not had a migraine now for some six years - whether it is the Amitriptyline or something else no-one can tell me, but I have continued to take them all this time. The effects of taking them long term appear not to be known, but I am, quite naturally, unwilling to stop in case the migraines return. I have also been very fortunate in that I have had no side effects at all ever since I started taking them. I am jus...
Updated in AmitriptylineI am keeping this brief: I have been taking Effexor for 3 months. I only take 75 mg. I have Major Dep and have tried many different meds for it. I am extremely sensitive to antidepressants and their side effects. So much so that I can't even go above 75mg per day. So here is me of Effexor: it helped right away. It was the best med for Dep I have taken so far. It is powerful and seems to hit the spot with me. I felt calmer, more alert, and all around happier- for about 2 months. Then the side effects started to get bad. When I first started on it, I had one or two Side Efx- excessive thirst, sweating. They were minor and a fair trade off for the effect of the drug. But my the start of the 3rd month, the side effects multiplied- excessive sweating, sleepiness, insomnia, thirst, loss o...
