I was switched from Pristiq to generic Pristiq (Desvenlafaxine) which if I understand right, is really Effexor. Is there a possibility this could be causing my severe fatigue? Has this happened to anyone else out there? ## My Insurance switched me to the generic (not my choice) about 3-4 weeks ago. Depression has been creeping in and I'm pretty concerned. Yesterday/last night was bad. Today was OK but my energy is not what it should be and my thinking/mood is not where it should be. Hoping to switch back but I don't know what is happening with the insurance...there is a $1000 penalty to go back to name brand!! ## Insurance is disgusting!! I actually feel ok depression wise and the fatigue turned out to be something else. I hope you stay stable ## Thanks. I'm glad your medica...

Is there a drug like Zoloft that you can buy over the counter? I need something to help me through a couple of days of tough times. ## Hello Johnny, In regards to actual medicine there really isn't going to be anything that is going to be over the counter that you can pick up. The reason for this is that drugs that are used for anti depressant purposes often have both an addictive nature and side effects that can cause suicidal tendencies. What I can say is that there are some "natural supplements" that claim to have anti-depression benefits. If you are just looking to get through a small window where you don't have a prescription filled this may be the best route for you to try. Here are a couple of supplements that I found that are claimed to help. - Sam-e - Tryptophan...

Today I went to the dr. She switched my Effexor and Buspar to Elavil. I have never taken this medication before. Its 25mg x 2 daily. I'm very interested in this medicine because I have a very hard time gaining weight and I've read blogs on yes it can cause weight gain. I'm also interested in how tired and sleepy it will make me. That's one negative effect I don't want. I'm more interested in energy and good mood lift... Any feedback would be appreciated, thx ## I think all these meds for mood and anxiety cause sleepy and no energy feelings. I've had to take many and all them make you tired and no energy ## I agree with you on this. I just started elavil 25mg before bed..I find myself sleeping later each morning. Which I don't like. Thank god I'm still...

is amitriptyline a narcodic or controlled substance 2102 on one side v on the other side sm. yellow pill ## Amitriptyline is not a narcotic, nor is it subject to the Controlled Substances Act. It is an antidepressant. Amitriptyline is a fairly safe drug although it can (and usually does) cause EXTREME drowsiness. It should not be taken before driving, etc until you know how it will effect you. Most people continue to become drowsy after taking it so they take it before bedtime. The other most common side effect is constipation. For information about this drug, please refer to the link below... Please post back if you have any other questions or comments to add. ## My doctor prescribed me Amitriptylin 25 MG it was not for depression, it was for a burning sensation that Ive been having du...

I accidentally lost my Cymgen 60mg while on holiday and it was two days before I was able to get it again. The first day without it I experienced what I can only describe as a "zing" in my head. It's like I can see an electric pulse and feel the vibrations down my body. It's a sharp and quick sensation. Usually occurring when I stand up, or when I move around too much. The second day it got increasingly worse and I started a migraine. Is this normal? ## Yes, any time you've been taking a medication for awhile and suddenly miss a few doses, or stop taking it abruptly, it's normal to experience some mild withdrawal and rebound effects. Cymgen contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, which is an SNRI antidepressant and they can be especially problematic, since the...

I've been taking 7.5mg Oxycodone for my pain after an accident a while ago. I recently was prescribed Amitriptyline 50mg for Anxiety and Depression. Are these 2 drugs safe to take together at there dosages? I've read it has a significant reaction about increasing the level of drowsiness and sedation, but does that mean it can be life threating or just a possible warning? ## Hello HunterOrion, I did some research and found the same thing you mentioned. According to the FDA the reaction between these two drugs is that they may increase the sedative properties. This was listed as a "moderate" interaction which means it's not life threatening in itself but could be fatal given certain conditions. Whenever you are taking medication that causes you to be drowsy or has seda...

Please! Not a med seeker. I just need to manage my pain with strong pain killers and need to get something for energy as I have severe depression and chronic pain. Going to all these referral places is a waste of time and energy and costly as well. ## Anyone in Ventura county that can give me an idea on where to go? I was dumb and started self-medicating. I was sooo sick and I put myself in danger just for a break from the chronic pain. I had back surgery that made my back worse,I have an old ankle injury that gets swollen and gives out on me, I just had both knees suffer from torn acl's,(injuring each just one month apart, my fiance says I have "every ailment known to man". MY MOTHER HAS BEEN USING THE TABLET LIBOTRYP FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS AFTER GALL BLADDER REMOVAL SURGERY. WILL THE USE OF LIBOTRYP CAUSE KIDNEY OR LIVER DAMAGE? ## Most medications are processed through the liver and long-term use of them risks organ damage, however, no one can definitively say that they will or will not cause it in any particular person. Some people will develop problems and some won't, that is how it works with any medication and the reasons why it happens to some people and not others is unknown. Is bupropion 150 mg fluoride-free and gluten-free? ## Is bupropion 150 mg fluoride-free and gluten-free? ## Good question! I'm in the middle of looking that up now (that's how I came across this post) ## Hello, I'd like to help you but I need to know a bit more information regarding your medication. Do you know the manufacturer and if possible can you give me the imprint on the pills? Each brand will have different inactive ingredients which is where you would find the gluten and flouride. Without knowing the exact brand I would just be taking a shot in the dark and I would hate to have something happen to you because I looked up the wrong brand.

This is the first time Costco mail order pharmacy has sent me these pills, the previous ones I have been taking for five years were also a generic but I do not remember their color but think they were two colors, one color was white and I believe the other was green. Ever since I started taking the blue pills, my FBSS pains in my legs have greatly increased. I took the fluoxetine primarily for relief from these pains, along with 150 mg Lyrica, 2mg clonoxepam, 50mg prestiq, 25mg amitriptyline, and 50mg lamotrigine daily. Is it possible that these new blue pills, which I understand are made in India by Alembic, are sufficiently different than the previous generic Fluoxetine to cause this increase in pain. Please help, the pain has been terrible since making this change. Thank you. ## The ...

I will provide an image, let me know if this is the pill you are asking about and I will provide further information. Let me know if this is the pill that you have. Do I need to wean off Viibryd if I only took for 2 weeks? My anxiety is through the roof and I'd rather just go back to Paxil and deal with the weight gain. Can I just switch back without issues or do I need to taper down the 20 mg of Viibryd like when I started it? ## I need to know the same thing been on Viibryd 3 weeks Panic is intense can’t handle it I think I felt better on paxil ## Our bodies all are subject to respond differently to quitting cold-turkey or tapering off something like Viibryd 2-3 weeks into treatment. However, working closely with your prescribing doctor on a tapering plan is probably the safest method for quitting, in my own humble opinion, especially if you don't know whether it's deemed necessary or not and are left undecided on a specific app...
