Can I stop Triptyline immediately and if what is side effects? ## Triptyline is reported to be an international brand name of Amitriptyline. As such, this medication is considered a Tricyclic Antidepressant and should be weaned off gradually. "Antidepressants in general may produce a discontinuation syndrome. This is not the same as drug withdrawal. Discontinuation symptoms can be managed by a gradual reduction in dosage over a period of weeks or months to minimize symptoms."
