I started citalopram a year ago and it takes time but it does work. I take 40 mg a day, and life has gotten better. OK, I do admit, you will be a little forgetful and slow, but that is what it does. If you are high anxiety, like me, it will slow you down. It calms you down and if you embrace it just right you CAN make the drug work in your own way and fitting in your own lifestyle. But remember, IT DOES TAKE TIME. You'll see. ## Medications in this class generally take a month or more to reach their full effectiveness, for most people. What does the XR part of the subject RX mean? ## It is just one of several abbreviations used to denote that the medictaion is a sustained release or controlled release formulation. This means that instead of being released all at once, the tablet has been specially formulated to slowly release the active ingredient over the relevant number of dosing hours. Have been on cymbalta and now prrestique....nausea every day and very constipated...have been seeing my gastro dr. and think that the meds have been the reason. ## Unfortunately, most prescription medications can cause both of these side effects, you may also experience: drowsiness, dizziness and headache. supposed to be elavil ## If there is no imprint then it is not a legal U.S. prescription tablet for Elavil. All prescription tablets sold in the U.S. are requited to have markings on them, to enable their identification. Where was it obtained? ## A friend's son was asking me about his Elavil, he noticed it did not have an imprint and I work in a pharmacy as a tech., he was wanting to know what it was. I did not know so I went to your site. He goes to a Government funded clinic here in Georgia, and has Medicaid.
