I have see a few effects with the 5mg (tiredness, issues with concentration, palpitations, increased anxiety) but none of the effects have been too bad and seem to have kind of been stabalized as I am on day 10 of 5 mg. Should I expect to go through it all again as I jump to 10mg? or will I be better off since I am only coming up from 5mg as opposed to jumping from 0mg to 5mg? ## Yes, it is likely that you will experience the side effects, again, if you up the dosage. That is what usually happens with most medications. They normally hit their peak at around 4 to 6 weeks, at a given...

I am not a depressed person just overwhelmed with caring for my 2 grandsons and trying to get my housework done, and have sometime for myself (which never happens) My doctor put me on the started pack of Viibryd 10mg for 7 days and 20mg of 7days. I now have been taking 20mg, this is my 8th week. I want to wean off of the medicine, doesnt to a thing for me. My husband and daughter agree. Can anyone tell me how this dosage is when weaning at my point. ## Sounds like you started on a free pack. It would depend how long you been taking it to get off. For example, I took it for 6 days had horrible side effects Dr. ordered I stop it. I was on my first week at 10 mg. I do not think your Dr. acted on your best interest. Your reasons to take this med does not warrant taking drug. ## If you'v...
Have been on Cymbalta due to depression My husband died that is why I was prescribed Cymbalta have gained 30kgs apart from that side effects are horrendous have been off it a week. Cannot get Reductil/Slimex her in Aus have purchased on line so do not want to ask my GP as is now illegal & do not want her to get into trouble knowing I am on it my question is when should I start taking it should I wait till Cymbalta is out of my system and when do you know it is out. Have had some withdrawal symptoms but cope ok. Appreciate and will be grateful for advice. I no longer look like myself and will not see anyone whilst I am so overweight thank tou ## Have you talked to your doctor, at all, yet? I am switching from Lexapro to Pristiq with my Pdoc. He recommended that I drop from my regular 20 mg of lexapro to 10mg and go to 50mg of pristiq. He said after 2 weeks drop the lexapro altogether. is this safe? is it too fast? I take 2 10mg tablets. Should I maybe go to 15mg--10mg-5mg-0? How have other people made the transition with minimum problems? ## How long have you been taking Lexapro for? From my perspective I think what your doctor recommend is fine. What's safe for "you" may not necessarily be safe for someone else (and vise versa, because everyone is different). If you're tapering your Lexapro dose down to 10mg from 20mg within 2 weeks, in my opinion, that seems to be a sufficient time frame to re-adjust. If tapering the dose really concerns you though, I wo...
Just found out the antidepressant Pristiq has Gluten in it. Can you tell me if there is one that has not ## I'm sorry, but the relevant ingredient information we have is only accurate for medications that are available in the U.S. Have you tried talking to your doctor about it? If you have a gluten allergy, you can also try making your pharmacy/chemist aware of that, so they can check medication ingredients for you. ## My wife has celiac disease (intolerance of gluten products). She may be suffering from depression, too. I'd like to know if there are any anti-depressants that are gluten-free, that is, safe for celiac patients to use.

I am enjoying my LUVOX CR, quite seriously. There is a difference, however, between the IR and the CR version. Currently there is no IR 'Luvox' per se, but in terms of efficacy, both seem to be equal. There are benefits with the CR, and of these there are many, but it seems to, for some reason, cause the stool to be softer. It does not cause me to have diarrhea, but I am prone to having the opposite normally, so I am wondering, are other people on CR getting full blown GI upset with diarrhea? The IR for some reason does not seem to have this effect,

Updated in PaxilI have been taking these anti-depressents for nearly 2 years but lately I am noticing a big change in my body. I am increasing weight and although I am always on diet, drink plenty of water and exercises I cannot loos weight - could it be because of them. Can I replace them with Wellbutrin pills??I am 36 years old. ## S-Oropram contains the active ingredient Escitalopram, which is an SSRI antidepressant and it has now been shown to cause any significant weight gain. Wellbutrin, which contains the active ingredient Buproprion is also not associated with weight gain. Have you discussed this with your doctor? The weight gain may just be part of the natural process of aging, with time some people's metabolisms will change. ## I have tried several different antidepressants over the years...
I am using 20 mg Lexamil in the morning I also is om Eltroxin and Estropause 2 mg I got sideaffects such as naussea running stomach sweat a lot headaches cold and hot flushes shivering Please help I sometimes cannot get out of bed. ## I'm sorry to hear about what you're going through there with all those side effects. If I may suggest anything that could be of help, it would be that you consider looking into alternative or natural medicine to treat whatever it is you're taking those prescriptions for. As far as taking Lexamil (Escitalopram) goes, in my honest opinion, your best bet it usually to see a psychiatrist, rather than a regular medical doctor. They are better trained in the types of medications that handle these problems and can also help you treat the underlying ca...

side effect of nexito 20 .taking for depression n trying to concieve. ## Escitalopram (Nexito) has been assigned to pregnancy category C by the FDA. It is noted that Escitalopram may cause harm to the fetus if it is used during the last 3 months of pregnancy; and human spontaneous abortion has been reported by the manufacturer. Animal studies have revealed evidence of adverse effects on embryo/fetal and postnatal development, including teratogenic effects, when administered at doses greater than human therapeutic doses. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Escitalopram should be given during pregnancy only if the potential benefit outweighs the potential risk to the fetus. I am currently taking 50mg of Toprol daily to control irregular heartbeats. My orthopedic doctor has prescribed 10mg of Elavil daily for 30 days to help with back pain. Is there any danger that these two drugs might cause an adverse reaction? ## I am also taking 10mg of elavil at nights to help shut my mind down so I can fall asleep. During the day time I take 25 mg of Toprol twice a day. My Dr. has no problem with these 2 drugs being taken together.
can I use mirtazapine for sleeping as the needs arises instead of a benzodiazepine. I do not want take mirtazapine every day but may be only once a week if I have a problem to fall asleep. ## I take it as and when needed, take 7.5 or even 3.75. Sometimes I can sleep unaided for 5 nights but then need to take it for a few nights, not too sure if it ok, some pharmacists say due to the small dose it is ok however some feel I should take it for a few weeks regular and then taper off it? I am not on any other mess and it is purely for getting off to sleep. ## Mirtazapine is a tetracyclic antidepressant and may only help with sleep, because it can cause drowsiness, as a side effect. Have either one of you consulted your doctors about using it in the manner you are?
