I have to take my hypothyroidism medication in the morning on an empty stomach, and just don’t want to mix them. Thoughts? ## Hello Wally, how are you? Effexor is usually taken in divided daily doses to help maintain the level of it in your body to aid in its efficacy. So, it is best to follow your doctors instructions. Ref: Medline Plus Effexor Are these the only medications you are currently taking regularly? ## Yes, only medications I’m taking. You said it’s “usually “ taken...

I am an MD who was RX Effexor XR for depression over 10 years ago. I took 75mg for many years and felt fine for a long time, but then wanted to get off of it. I would be in a panic if I forgot to take my pill and would experience strange dizzy/buzzing sensation behind my eyes. I was able to taper down to the 37.5mg pretty easily by alternating daily between 75mg/37.5mg. Then I got stuck and tried taking the lower dose every other day or every 36 hours but the side effects were too great. Then luckily, my new partner suggested opening up the capsules and tapering off with beads. I have been doing that now for about a year and a half. The original generic brand capsule had about 39 beads in and I was able to get down to 6 beads. When I tried to stop I couldn't function. I was shocked ...
My younger brother aged 35 years had a problem of double vision in left eye due to nerve damage and as per doctor advise, he used wysolone tablets 120mg per day along with other medicines for 45 days. The doctor did not told us the side effect of wysolone and precautions which we have to take while using wysolone. We don't know that wysolone is a steroid. Due to this drug, my brother got side effects such as round face, double chin, rashes on all over body and heavy hungry. His eye problem is reduced in these 45 days. after 45 days, the doctor reduced wysolone drug by 80mg, 60mg,40mg like that per day. After 3days, he got problems of loose motions and vomtings and he became very weak. I took him to hospital. Doctors told that he is suffering with lack of immunity power due to steroi...
Has anyone that is currently prescribed Sertraline had any issues when taking Phentermine? Are there interactions between the two? ## Not a good idea . Zoloft is a leveler which pulls you down . Adderall is not the same thing as phentermine and should never be compared as such . ## A drug called Effexor or other anti depressant is often paired with any type of Behavior RX as combining bupropion with instead of a flattening drug like Zoloft/Sertraline can produce painful behaviors for the patient ## Sertraline, and Phentermine tend to increase the effects of each other, which may more severe side effects than usual, such as insomnia, nervousness, headache, and irritability. This combination could reach toxic levels, so it is generally best to avoid prescribing these medications together....
I started on 15mg mirtazapine 7 weeks ago and titrated up after 4 weeks to 30mg for 1 week; then back down to 15mg for the last week. I want off this awful medication. I feel completely spaced out all the time but am aware withdrawal is horrendous. I have been really agitated the past 48 hrs so I want to limit withdrawal symptoms as much as possible. I was going through a bad divorce, serious debts and being staked for 9 months by my ex husband of 26 years. I have had extensive counselling and am mentally in a much better place so I want to come off this poison ASAP safely. Thank you for your reply. ## Hello, Beth! How are you? Overall, divorces always suck, even if we have to do them for own good, I dealt with one back in 2009 and my new husband had to deal with one back in 2015, so I ...
Started taking Trintillex. Had bad side effects and stopped too fast which caused withdrawal. Now my Dr. has prescribed Escitalopram 5 mg. How long does this take to start working? Or is Zoloft 5mg better to start taking? Thanks so much. ## Zoloft is for middle aged women going through menopause It depresses young adults and seniors ## Iam waiting for a response regarding my questions about is Zoloft better or Lexapro which is escitalipram. ## Joni, which one may help you the most depends on the specific symptoms being treated, as well as any health conditions you may have, and other medications you may be taking, so it is best to try the one that your doctor has recommended. For example, since Sertraline can cause weight gain, and Fluoxetine(Prozac) usually doesn't, my husband woul...

I was put on the drug in November 2011. I was taking it till this year September this year when i decided to leave it. I did not taper it down at all. My boyfriend has now left me because of my constant fighting and the fact that i loose my temper constantly. It has only been for the last two months that he's been complaining. I have honestly tried hard to keep myself calm in times when something upsets me.. i just can't control it. Is it possibly a side effect, or that i should maybe except that i have to take it? ## Rebound and withdrawal effects are well known to happen with these types of medications, if you stop taking them abruptly. Learn more Lexamil details here. A slow taper is usually down to help minimize these types of issues. After 2 months, you've already been ...
I have been taking 10mg of Trintellix in the mornings for just under 3 weeks and it works well for me, but I can't sleep well and the lack of sleep alone is making me consider stopping this medication. Would it be better to take it at night? Is the sleep issue something that normally goes away? ## If the Trintellix is making you drowsy, it may be a good idea to try taking it at night, like you mentioned. Another issue is, were you already having difficulty sleeping before you started taking the Trintellix? If you were, it may not be the Trintellix. If you weren't, it probably is. You can also maybe lower it to 5 mgs for maybe 3 weeks, then jack it back up to 10 mgs if you feel you have to. That may help your body adjust to it. Good luck. ## Most medications in this class can cau...
I have been taking two 25mg in Sertraline and now I take one 50mg, I prefer to take two 25mg tablets because taking a 50mg tablet is to much for me to take all at once, but my pharmacist say that they have never given me 25mg in sertraline, but I sure that they have. ## Have you talked to your doctor about writing the prescription as two 25mg tablets, rather than 50mgs? If so, then the pharmacy has to dispense them that way, regardless of what their past records show, so the problem would be eliminated. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Sertraline as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood changes, and weight changes. Ref: Medline Plus Sertraline

What is the proper way to get off Escialopram 10MG after taking it for 3 weeks? Learn more Escitalopram details here. Are you experiencing bad side effects from it? You should double check this information, for your own health and safety. ## Thanks. I agree with your statement. This pill has the same logo marking as my Metformin on one side but this one is oval, white and has a C | 40 imprinted on the other side. ## This was most likely Citalopram 40 mg manufactured in Canada by Cobalt pharmaceuticals (which was acquired years ago). DIN: 02248051 "Each oval, white, scored, filmed-coated tablet, marked "C|40" on one side and ">" on the other" Source: CO Citalopram - Web Archive 2008-04-18 It appears that a similarly inscribed tablet is also listed in other countries: "Citalopram Sandoz 40 mg - white, oval, biconvex film-coated tablets with a score notch on one side, and embossed C 40."
white, round, 20mg tablets. Depression?? ## just was given cipralex to try for depression and anxiety - been on zoloft, effexor then prestiq - just wondered if anyone has had any good results ## I have been taking Lexam for approx 4 mths and found it to be far better than Zoloft or the mulitude of others I've been put on in the past. As I'm single I can't comment on any issues with Libido, something that it definitely affected by Zoloft, but I can say that it definitely makes it easier to get up each day. I sleep less (unlike when on Endep) and have more energy than before. I've had no issues with weight gain for once. If anything I've lost a little because I'm not gorging myself with comfort foods. I hope it works as well for you. ## Escitalopram is used to trea...
I am new to taking pristiq and have been taking 100mg for around 3 weeks. Initially my script was for 50mg so I was taking 2. When I got my next script filled I didn't realise they were 100 mg tablets and I accidently took 2 each day for 3 days before I realised they were 100mg, so for 3 days I have taken 200mg rather than 100mg and now I know why I was feeling extremely nauseous and dizzy. I have now just continued taking the 100mg as per normal but am feeling very strange, agitated and dizzy. Has anybody done this before? Should the symptoms settle quickly? ## Hello, Dani! How are you? Yes, the symptoms should settle down, but it may take a week or two. Typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight changes. If they don...
