I am going through menopause and my doctor switched me from Prestiq to Zoloft. The Prestiq wasn't helping the anxiety I was getting from menopause so she started me on Zoloft one month before weaning off Prestiq. I decided on my own to take 3/4 pill for one week, then 1/2 pill for another week, and then 1/4 pill for the last week (I know this pill is time released and shouldn't do this but I did it once before and was only sick minimal). This time the day I completely stopped Prestiq I had stomach churning, head zaps and nausea. The weird thing is it only lasted until the afternoon and then I felt better at night. This went on for a week and then I was fine. Did anyone ever hear of only being sick during the day and why would I be so sick one time and not another? Very curious. ...

UpdatedI have been taking citalopram for a few years. It was fairly effective but switched to Paxil for a few months and then switched to Effexor because Paxil made me very tired. I only took Effexor for three months and decided to withdraw from taking any medication. Almost immediately after I stopped taking anything I gained weight. I've never had a weight problem and it hasn't been a huge amount (5-7 lbs) but it was almost instantaneous AND I've been exercising more and eating less and it doesn't budge. It mostly when to my stomach. My question is if anyone else has had this issue after they have stopped taking the meds and if there was any improvement after a few months of being off of the medication (I've been off for about 1 1/2 months). ## Hello, Liz! How are you? Th...

I take Venlor XR 150mg daily for treatment of chronic depression. I have developed what is presenting as a nervous condition something that is making my thigh muscles weak with pain, numbness and pins and needles in my feet. My Neurologist has prescribed 10mg daily of Trepoline to treat the nervous symptoms which I have been taking for 10 days. My depression symptoms have become significantly worse ( although there are circumstances in my life at present that are causing much anxiety). Could the Trepoline be a cause of the deepening depression symptoms?

Which psychotropic med requires drinking a plenty of water? ## I believe it is risperidone but I am cancelling my questions all together because my treatment team in my home town are addressing the issues I have with them and I think there will be a good outcome...peace everyone...I have no more questions or comments... ## Hi Bernie! I'm on Risperidone and I've never been directed to drink a lot of water with it. I read the pamphlet that comes with it and it doesn't say it on there either.
I've been taking Lexapro and Zanax for nearly ten years for extreme anxiety and depression. In march I was taken off Xanax as my local gp couldn't prescribe it anymore. Since then I don't feel lexapro is working. I can't sleep longer than 2 or 3 hours and don't leave the house. What should I do? ## Do not go off your Lexapro. Sometimes you may think something is not working until you go off of it. Then you find out the hard way (as I have) that it was doing more than you thought it was. If you are not abusing Xanax and your doctor stopped prescribing it out of personal bias, just find another doctor who will prescribe it, as long as you don't abuse it.
Feel like crap on this drug. want to know maybe dose is to low. taking for skeletal pain. losing weight fast, no appetite ## Hello, Cindy! How are you? What dosage are your taking and how long have you been taking it? Cymbalta is an antidepressant that can also help with some types of nerve pain. Its normal side effects may include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and weight gain.
I have been advised to take T.RabiumDSR as the Blood chemistry showed high percentage as compared to normal. It was diagnosed as Jaundice. I am much depressed whether my case is crisis or cancer or Jaundice only. I have pain in my stomach/liver.
UpdatedThere's been some legal cases recently filed in the US regarding Cymbalta withdrawal. Claims that Lilly deliberately omitted information about the true risk of withdrawal in the product label and in marketing materials. According to the LA law firm Baum Hedlund, the label wrongly claims that Cymbalta only has a 1% withdrawal risk, when in actual fact Cymbalta studies show a much higher risk rate - between 44% to 50% withdrawal risk! ## hello I have been on Cymbalta 4 for years now my doctor has taken me off about 2 weeks ago the withdrawals are horrible she switch me to Zoloft the suicidal thoughts while I was on Cymbalta was overwhelming the head zaps are scaryand I did gain about 30 pound and I am a thin lady.this is my second go round on Cymbalta I was per scribed Cymbalta in 200...

Dr. is giving me Cymbalta to try with the Wellbutrin..I am terrified of gaining more weight. I CANNOT gain anymore..I have been so depressed I don't even leave the house and I am usually an outgoing person...I don't know what to do. ## I meant wellbutrin ## My advice as a Cymbalta user for a couple years is do not take it. It took me 4 months to wean myself off and they were not easy. I have been off almost 3 weeks and am still have some withdrawal symptoms. I've been taking generic Cymbalta Duloxetine for 6 months, since my insurance quit paying for the brand name. I've found that it made me more tired and more depressed. I changed to taking it at bedtime with much better results. Has anyone else observed any differences in the generic Cymbalta? ## I felt the same way with the generic. It seemed it did more harm than good. My moods were all over the place. I also gained 20 pounds in 6 months. So glad im off it now! ## Hello, Mark! How are you? If it was due to the fact that it was a generic, then the time of day you take it would not have made a difference. Those can be normal side effects of this medication, plus just life and stress in general could have made your depression worse, for a period of time. Other side effects to this...
I was recently prescribed this by my Doc for 3 months this summer. I used it for only 2 and a day later it went away, I was no longer sad, or getting angry, It was like nothing brought me down I was happy and the best part I never got a "high" feeling from it this what I had requested from my doctor, it was like i was taking vitamins . so a month later my depression came back. Its but he same company but I was a little skeptic when I noticed it came in a different box but it both said it was done by gsk. I now experience drowsiness right after I take the one I am on now for a little while (I never did before, ad i hate this) . I did my research and found out that its now a different manufacturer. The one I was on first was from Biovail Corp in Canada (the one I liked because it ...
I was prescibed Serta-50mg.by the doctor for depression.I have been taking it for last three years.Since I am feeling netter. can I stop it.now ## Do not stop cold turkey! You will be very sick. My doctor said to wean slowly. For a month, take a half a pill a day. Then a half a pill every OTHER day. Then stop. I did it just like this 33 days ago was the last pill I had and im still trying to get these withdraw symptoms to stop. Im very sick to my stomach almost all the time. It sucks ## Hi Meena! The reason you are feeling better is because you are taking the medication. I know people who stopped their medication and they were fine for awhile then lapsed into depression again. It is NOT good to stop the medication until you speak to your doctor. Call him first.
