I was taking carvidilol and it was raised to 6.25mg last month and I was put on celxa 20mg two months ago. I have had a really bad itchy rash for over a week. I feel that it is the carvidilol because that was raised to 6.25 I went back down to 3.125mg the other day Has anyone ever experience this ## Hello, Susan! How are you? Carvedilol has been known to cause that, but if it is an allergic reaction, rather than just going back to the lower dose, you will most likely need to switch to a completely different medication, so please be sure to consult your doctor. Such allergic reactions actually have a propensity to get worse with continued use of the culprit medication. Has there been any change, since you went to the lower dose? Are these the only medications that you take? Have you chan...

Hi....Here's the short version of my story. I was on effexor for 13 years, started out at 37.5mg for probably 9 years and had absolutely No problems with anxiety. I was so good that I decided to stop taking it. Felt great for 3 months then I had a terrible attack in the middle of the night. Went to doc she put me back on and all said and done was up to 225mg to make me feel "normal". From there I stayed on that dose until about 6 weeks ago. Again I woke up in the middle of the night with a panic attack. Unfortunately they don't just stop, they go on for days and weeks! I immediately went to my doc and she upped me to 300mg of effexor, after a couple weeks we decided it just wasn't working anymore. We chose citalopram as the next option because my brother has had succ...

what are the side effects of a 28 year old girl - reducing her effexor dose from 75 to 37.5 mg? Should this be done gradually? ## Common side effects while reducing dosage include chills, hypertension, anorexia, nausea, agitation, dizziness, somnolence, tremor, yawning, sweating. I would consult her prescribing physician, and ask them if she should gradually lower her dosage. If you would like to read more about this medication, you can also see: Do you have any other questions or information to add? Please post back if you do... ## I am a 24 year old girl who *was reducing my effexor dose from 75 to 37.5. My doctor told me to take it VERY slow--perhaps 6 months. What is Mixed Connective Tissue Disease? What medications are prescribed for it? Could this be the cause of severe low back pain? My Dr. doesn't believe in fibromyalgia but I have been diagnosed with this going on 12 years. I am taking Cymbalta, and Ultram for the fibromyalgia. My Dr. prescribed plaquenil but honestly I cannot tell I am taking anything. And since he prescribed the plaquenil he cut my dosage of Ultram from 100mg 4 times a day to 3 times a day. I quit taking the plaquenil because it keeps me awake at night, even though I take trazadone and clorazapam for sleep. I have had to add 2 benedryl with that to stay asleep. Can anyone offer me some advise? ## It's also called Sharp's Syndrome, it's an autoimmune disease. The prognosis usually isn't good for lon...

Hello, I ran out of sertraline and my sister has citalopram. Will it be ok to take that for few days ? ## Hello, Linda! How are you? What are the dosages? Your doctor should be able to call some Sertraline in for you, until you can get in for an appointment. These are SSRI antidepressants that may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight changes. ## Thanks for your reply. Started Citalopram, 40mg day, and feel much better. Thought, "Ok this is mind over matter here, you can do this" after I ran out. Have taken 150 mg Sertraline for several years and abruptly stopping didn't work out well. Rough week & getting worse helped me decide to take what I could get closest to what I had been taking. Medicare decided to cut me off this drug. Pharmacist working on it. Day 3 I NEVER want to feel this again. Not sure if I ever want to take this drug again as there are going to be problems with refills FOREVER! ## Hello, MN Loon! How are you? You may want to speak to your doctor about trying a different antidepressant. Many are available as generics, so Medicare usually covers them and, even if it doesn't, they are very cheap if you have to pay cash. Have you tried any of the others, or is this the first? How are you feeling? Have your symptoms eased up, yet?

Cymbalta's generic, Duloxetine, was given to me by my pharmacy without notifying me of the change. I'd been taking Brand at night, 120 mg. for four plus years and the drug made a tremendous difference in quality of life. On the generic I had insomnia from the get go, felt depressed and exhausted during the day, and didn't figure it out for several days because the generic capsules are exactly the same colors as the Brand. (There ought to be a law...) Dr. suggested I then try taking it in the morning; then at dinnertime, but was still unable to sleep for more than three hours at a time, even after thirty hours of wakefulness. Feeling spaced out during the day made it Impossible to function normally, and eyes were still wide open at night. After a couple of weeks I felt like s...

I found this pill in my house a white oblong pill with 084 on one side and APO on the other ## Hello, Marie! How are you? I'm sorry, I don't have pictures to post for you due to copyright reasons, but I can tell you that this is listed in the U.S. prescription drug databases as containing 30mgs of Paroxetine, which is an SSRI antidepressant. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, headache and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

How are you feeling? Elavil isn't an analgesic, so it's not something you can take as needed to help with your pain. It is a tricyclic antidepressant, so it can help with some types of pain, but in order to do so, it needs to be taken consistently for several weeks, before it reaches a therapeutic efficacy level in your body. If you need immediate pain relief, then you should contact your doctor to see what would be ...

I have tried at least 15 meds over many years for major depression & wellbutrin is the only one that ever worked. The immediate release and the SR versions increased my problems w/anxiety, so the Dr. put me on 2pills in am of the XL 150 mg. version, and it has helped me have a life, not commit suicide, etc. Since insurers no longer want to pay for brand-name, I also tried wellbutrin XL150 mg, 2 pills in am from all 4 of the remaining generic mfgs , over the course of at least 6 mos. Felt pretty bad but hung on as I thot there was a lite at the end of the tunnel. 3 generics hd no effect, 1 had at most a quarter of the efficacy of the brand name. I don't have the name of the better one at hand, but when I find it I could post it here...Now I have a new HMO and they won't give ...

Hello all, have been taking aropax (paroxetine) since 17y0. I am now 32 and a nurse. 5yo approx the govt stopped funding the aropax brand tried generic did not work. Paid a fortune for the apropax brand.Due to this have switched to escitalopram 10mg now for 11 days. I feel so nauseated and have a constant headache. Will this go away ## Hello, Sarah! How are you? You are most likely dealing with some withdrawal from stopping one, as well as side effects from starting the new medication. You may also experience dizziness and dry mouth. It should improve, after a few weeks, once your body gets used to the medication. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been on Viibryd for awhile along with klonopin, neurotin, adderall. Abilify was just added because I still felt depressed. I now have severe hip pain. I'm on my feet for my job 13.5 hours three days in a row a week. I thought it was the floors even though I wear a good shoe with a doctor made insole for a high arch. The problem is that the pain doesn't go away. Is it my meds? I'm only 45. ## Hello, Jennifer! How are you feeling? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. Yes, the Abilify can cause aches and pains, as a side effect, in some people that take it. If it's interfering with your ability to work, you may just need to switch to a different medication. Have you had any other side effects, such as fatigue, dizziness, tremor or hoarseness?

There's so many scary posts written here that I just wanted to share my own experience so that those considering Viibryd know it can be a positive benefit. My wife of 20 years let me know that she wanted to leave me, I dealt with it fine for a while but then went into deep depression and had severe anxiety that prevented me from sleeping for 4 days. My doctor prescribed Viibryd for my "situational depression". It took 3 days to kick in, but once it did I started feeling much more like my old self. I was still feeling depression, but able to handle it. After 7 days I went up to 20 mg per the regular schedule and wow, I feel like my old self, but even better! I'm more positive than I've been in a long time, find it easier to laugh, and am no doubt much more pleasant to...
