Antidepressant Compatible With Prozac

I have been taking 60mg generic Prozac for about six months. These days I'm feeling like it's not quite controlling my depression. With my doctor's permission I tried raising the dose to 80mg and it caused me to sleep straight through the entire day. Does anyone know of another antidepressant that might work with prozac but not knock me out? Paxil was wonderful but stopped working after about 3 years as well as wellbutrin and zoloft......all taken by themselves. I would appreciate your suggestions, thank you.

If you've been off of it for awhile, then I'd suggest considering trying the Paxil again.

Learn more Paxil details here.

it is normal for your body to get used to a medication and for it to stop working for you, but that isn't always a permanent thing. Sometimes taking a break from it, for awhile, is all that's needed.

I'm not a doctor, so you'll have to discuss it with your treating physician to see if it's right for you to do so, but just because something stopped working for awhile doesn't mean you can't ever take it again.

I was on pain management for years and ended up on very high doses of Oxycodone, but after being off of it for 2 years, my dentist was able to alleviate all of my pain after surgery with just a 5mg dosage.

Are there any other questions or comments?
