Hello, I've been taking Topiramate/Topamax for about 14 years. When is 'too long' as far as stopping the medication? I feel as though I have so much of the drug in my body already that it may need a break. ## Hello, Vicki! How are you? That's not actually how it works, your body doesn't keep storing more and more of the medication, that's why you have to take regular doses. Our bodies process stuff out, after a certain period of time. As to how long is too long, that is entirely up to your and your doctor. Only the two of you can decide how long you should continue taking it. Have you discussed your concerns with them? The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, clumsiness, drowsiness, red eyes and memory problems. ## T...

I just started using ic oxcarbazepine a week ago. I take 150mg twice a day and it started kicking in within the first few days of taken the medication. Normally most psych medications take two weeks to kick in but my doctor told me I would notice a difference within the first few days then notice more of a major difference as time goes on. I have been on a bunch of different psych medications which have taken almost a month to work for me but I strongly recommend anyone to have they're doctor prescribe them ic oxcarbazepine ( generic brand of trileptal ) for bipolar disorder or depression because you will notice the change within the first couple days. ## Hello, Angie! How are you doing? I am very glad that this medication works so well for you. Not all medications work for everyone...

My son use topamax, tegratol for epelepsy and took 4 x urbenol now act strange is sleepy ..... ## Hello, Clei! How is your son? Did he suffer any other adverse affects? Taking that many of them could cause some dangerous overdose symptoms, which the U.S. FDA lists as possibly including nausea, vomiting, severe drowsiness, severe dizziness and shallow breathing, which could potentially be fatal.

I am not taking it illegally or abusing it in any way and I am looking to get my Class A CDL. Any help is much appreciated, Thanks ## If the DOT does a full panel drug screen, meaning sending it to the lab for a comprehensive analysis, suboxone will show up on your test. ## I am facing 5 yrs in state prison for a a drug screen that came back positive for suboxin. I'm on probation for a DUI and I have never taken this and I truly don't know what to do! Please help! I do take gabapentin 2,400 mg/day and bus bar 10 mg/day, along with random Advil and Advil PM but that is all!

I'm taking gabapentin 300. I've been on it for the last 5 years to help decrease my rsd pain. I've met several other woman who use this drug and who have experienced the same side effect of causing dark spots on their cheeks. Is it the gabapentin causing this? I'd really like to find out, because, I had lost my insurance for 5months and was off the drug. To my surprise, the dark spots lightened up all the while I was off of it. Now that I am able to see my Dr. again, he wants me to start taking this drug again. Is their any medical research study shown that gabapentin causes facial dark spots. ## Hello, Honey! How are you? Yes, the FDA does list skin discolorations as being a possible side effect of this medication, along with headache, dry mouth, nausea and weight gain....

My wife has been taking Oxcarbazepine 150mg twice a day for a couple weeks now. Didn't notice at first but now she's super tired esp mid afternoon into the evening and sometimes spacey. Forgetful, a def "slow motion" kind of demeanor etc. I am just hoping this subsides over time because it's starting to affect her quality of life. Going to bed at 6pm cause she can barely keep your eyes open. ## Hello, Boris! How is your wife doing? That can be a normal side effect, when someone is new to taking such a medication, as listed by the FDA. She may also experience nausea, dizziness and headaches. They usually improve after about 4 to 5 weeks, once their body gets used to the medication. I remember when my husband first started taking this one, though it was back when were ...

Been off Gabby for months now and starting to feel like my old self except still having digestive issues..bloating, small stomach aches that are getting better.. Has anyone else dealt with this problem? Dr. has me taking Zantac and also trying Beano and gas x..just makes me very uncomfortable at times. Hope everyone is doing better.. Thanks ## I get that terrible bloated feeling and take just one ginger tablet. They work fast and no side effects. Buy them at any drug store or health food store. ## Hello, Sandy! How are you? Most medications can irritate the stomach and cause some damage with long-term use and it may take awhile for it to heal, as reported by the FDA. Are you taking any medications other than what you've mentioned? Do you watch what you eat? You may need to keep your...

I think I accidentally took a double dose of keppra - I'm on 750 mg twice daily, what should i expect? ## Hello, Ann! How are you? Did you experience any adverse effects? It can taken in doses up to 3,000mgs a day, so an overdose is doubtful, though that can vary depending on the person and how their body reacts to it, but you will most likely experience more side effects than usual and you may feel very dizzy, nauseous and drowsy, as listed by the FDA. It would also be wise to contact your doctor and inform them of what happened to be safe. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Ann, I take 1500 mg Levetiracetam ER once in the morning and 150 mg of lamotrigine 3x's a day in divided doses. As a reminder, I have set alarms on my cell phone when to take each med. I also take k...

I have been on Vimpat since April of 15th 2015. Did surgery for my seizures and no seizure since august of last year.....its been 1 year and I will slowly start weaning off the Vimpat. I am currently taking 100mg/day with 300mg lamictal. Doc told me to start weaning off the vimpat first...is it in 50mg increments you start doing this? Thanks ## It should be done as slowly as possible, in most cases the preferred method is to gradually reduce your dose, while also spacing each dose further and further apart. Typically in 25mg increments and then adding a half hour, an hour... Did your doctor not provide you with any instructions? Stopping to to fast can create the risk of your experiencing seizures, again, according to the FDA, so you must be very careful. Are you seeing a neurologist, o...

My son, 37, had a massive stroke caused by sepsis 19 months ago. He had neuropathy in both feet, got a strp infection in his feet which went septic and then had the stroke. He then had charcot foot bilaterally, very severely, which has been corrected as much as possible over last year thru surgery. He suffered a seizure 10 months ago from being put on Ultram. Now 3 days ago, he suffered another seizure blamed just on having a lowered seizure threshhold. He was put on 500mg Keppra every 12 hours. This morning, he started having extremely severe pain in his feet on the skin and the pain is moving around on the bottoms and tops of his feet. He has endured extreme amounts of pain in the past, but this is SO sharp and burning that he cries out every time it hits him... which is every few mom...

I had a hemangiopericytoma removed from my cervical spine about 6 years ago and have had nothing but problems since. I can barely move my neck, have terrible cervical headaches (occipital mainly) and cannot find relief. I have tried the gamut of pain meds, nerve pills and muscle relaxers, with no success. Tried all the therapies, alternative options and am at "my wits end". I am on Gabapentin currently and cannot stand the weight gain, dumb feeling and irritability. HELP?!!! ## I am so very sorry about how miserable you are, that's terrible. Are you seeing a specialist, such as a pain management specialist? In some cases like yours a spinal stimulator, or implanted drug infusion machines might help, according to the NIH and many will try them, once other options have been ex...

I have been on Epsolin/Eptoine for the past 7 years & started to face some hand shakiness & gum troubles. Just wanted to check if there are any side effects of levipill 500 since my neurologists has advised me to switch from Epsolin to Levipill. ## Every medication carries the risk of side effects. I have just done withdrawals from a Dopamine drug that I was using for Restless Leg Syndrome. Now I have been started on Gabapentin and I see so many forums and comments from people withdrawing from this drug. I'm feeling concerned now and can someone tell me the reasons for not wanting to use this drug? Is it because you've found something that works better, or, were you having nasty side effects, or, anything else that I should know?. I'd appreciate finding out everyone's story and thanks very much. ## Hello, Katy! How are you? It really depends on the person, so the reasons may vary. Not every medication works for every person that tries it and, if it doesn't work, there's no point in continuing it. Conversely, it can cause seizures in some people, mood swings...

my friend taken frisium by accident 10mg tablet 10nos. That means 100mg as single dosage. We admitted in the hospital. After two days continious monitor dischared to home. he says there is continious giddines,We want to know whether any side effect will hapen in future. ## Frisium does contain Clobazam, which is a Benzodiazepine derivative, so yes, there may be some permanent damage if he took that much at once. Is he consulting a regular doctor, so they can monitor him on an ongoing basis? ## I've been taking frisium 5mg daily since 6 n 1/2 months. My doctor asked me to stop it suddenly. I feel dizzy, anxious and could not even see moving objects properly. Shouldn't I use frisium for 6 months? ## I am taking frisium 10mg daily night because i have epilepsy. So by doctors advice...

Been off Gabapentin for months now and feeling much better..still having some stomach issues, bloating, low appetite and small stomach ache. Dr. had me try Zantac and it does help some. Anyone else had this problem coming off Gabapentin?? Thanks ## Hello, Sandy! How are you? If it is still occurring months after stopping, it is not likely related to withdrawal of the Gabapentin, but it could have caused some damage to your stomach that needs to heal. As reported by the FDA, it has been known to cause peptic ulcers, stomatitis, hiatal hernia and gastroenteritis, as side effects. If the Zantac isn't helping much, it might be best to see a gastroenterologist, so they can determine exactly what is causing the problem and help you resolve it. Is there anything else I can help with? ## It...

My daughte is on neurontin for epilepsy, she also has an arachnoid cyst and an aneurysm. I found out she has skipped three days of doses( I counted her pills). How bad could this be? ## Hello, Pitbull mommy! How is your daughter doing? If she's taking it to prevent seizures, then you need to stress to her the importance of taking it all the time, as prescribed. Missing doses, even if someone doesn't have epilepsy, creates the risk of seizures. Since she does have epilepsy, her risk of having a seizure from skipping doses is even higher. Side effects to this medication may include nausea, dizziness, weight changes and mood swings. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have always never been able to focus IR concentrate. Lobazam contains the active ingredient Clobazam, which is a Benzodiazepine derivative used to treat anxiety and convulsions. And yes, it can cause those side effects, especially in such a young child. Have you consulted his doctor? If he is taking it for Convulsions, there are other, much safer options on the market. I was in the hospital and they gave me an injection for pain. It started with the letter g. Any ideas? ## Could it be gabapentin? Gabapentin is frequently prescribed for nerve pain, although I'm not exactly certain whether it's currently available in an intravenous dosage form. I did happen to find a clinical study on FDA.gov discussing gabapentin being taken via IV administration at the bottom of page 2 in the following link: accessdata.fda.gov/drugsatfda_docs/label/2009/020235s041.pdf Hopefully this will at least help narrow potential suspects as to what medication you're searching for. I'll be sure to post back if I can think of any other prospects that start with a 'g'. Gabapentin just happens to be one of the more common brand names on the market. ## Thanks,...

gabaneuron was prescribed for severe pain at the last vertibrate ## Gabeneuron contains the active ingredients Gabapentin and Methylcobalamin and is used to treat certain types of nerve pain. It will take a month or so to reach its full effectiveness in the body and see if it helps you. Side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and weight changes.
