I have been taking this drug for 3 weeks because of continual UTI infections. My Dr. prescribed this and it is working so far except I am having difficulty falling asleep each night until 3 am. I live in the central time zone and this is very late for me. I generally go to sleep around 10-11PM. My Dr. asked me to take this at night before going to bed. Could this procedure and medicine cause sleeping problems? ## Yes, antibiotics can sometimes cause that in some people that take them, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. How much longer will you be taking it?

I took macrobid 100 mg twice within 8 hours. I thought it was three times a day, but it said two times a day. Do I need to go to the er? ## This is an antibiotic, so you can't really overdose on it, unless you are allergic to it, or would take the whole bottle. However, as listed by the NIH, you may experience more side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Unless your doctor instructs otherwise, you should just continue with your regular dosing schedule and seek medical attention, if you experience any adverse reactions. How long have you been taking it?

I have a script for amoxicillin 500mg every 6 hours. What are the most beneficial times to take them? I had fever especially at night for few days, I thought it was due to exertion as we recently moved. Followed by that, I had a lower neck swelling since 10 days. My symptoms were- fever at night , rarely chills, coughing, body ache, weakness, swelling on lower front right side of neck. I took an appointment with the doctor and was prescribed amoxicillin 875 for 7 days. My other symptoms are subsided but the neck swelling would not go. I revisited the doc and she prescribed me azithro and steroids, I am a bit worried. What should I do?

I finished cipro 2 days ago for a UTI. Now I have sinus drip, scratchy throat and wheezing. I have a tooth infection and was given Augmentin and the doctor knows I'm allergic to penicillin. I know there is some forms of penicillin you can take if allergic, would this be one of them? ## There is no Penicillin in this antibiotic, the FDA lists it as containing Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid and its most common side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Now, that isn't to say that you may not find other medications that you are also allergic to, but the only way to find out is by trying them. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have had no problems with Gimalxina and amoxicilina from mexico. The Gimablina is white and red capsule. Best result with amoxicilina is the white and blue capsule. have taken it for years when sick. I will only get from a Benavidez pharmacy across the border, with my other meds. ## Hi suzann, What type of antibiotic is Gimalxina or Gimablina? I haven't actually heard of these names before. Do you take it in conjunction with the Amoxicillin or is this quite simply a Mexican brand name of "Amoxicilina"? I'd be curious to know how effective it might be in comparison to our standard US-based Amoxicillin against similar types of bacterial infections... It's good to hear that you've had no problems with either of them.

I have a history of heart arrthymias and just started taking Biaxin. After 2 days of taking 500 mg. 2 x day I seem to be having more arrhythmias. There is also a horrible taste in my mouth. My Dr said I had some fluid in one ear and a possible sinus infection. Three people I've been in contact with recently had these same symptoms which makes me think this is a virus but would amoxicillin be a better choice for me? ## Amoxicillin is an antibiotic in a different class than the clarithromycin you are taking but still an antibiotic. Viruses cannot be treated with antibiotics. Viruses just have to run their course. The only thing you can do against a virus is usually to vaccinate for it before it happens except there isn't one for the common Cold. Zinc is good for shortening colds a...

In such cases, the only thing you can really do is avoid these trigger foods, or only add them into your diet in small amounts, gradually increasing your intake of them, so your body gets used to them. As to milk, it may be a lactose intolerance that is causing that problem. Th...
