Can't pee! Need to, want to, but nothing is forthcoming. So very thirsty, lots of water going in, but just a quick tinkle coming out. I was attacked by a dog and the ER prescribed Amox-Clav for 3 days but the plastic surgeon prescribed the idential prescription for 7 days. Is it just effective after 3 days as is 7? Taking Sulfameth/TP DS causes me severe nausea. Is there another way to take it? Intravenious of shot? I am taking it for an ear infection,. I only took one and already became nauseated. ## Hi Jean, Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim does also come in a sterile solution for intravenous infusion (injection-only). I can't say that you won't experience the same side effects (as everyone may react differently), but if you're open to it, the option is available. took 1st 100 mg tablet of doxycycl hyc last night. This AM had burny, itchy red rash on right hand. Took second tablet this AM and 3rd this PM. Now have blisters like poison ivy on one finger. Is this a typical side affect of the docycycl hyc? If so, will it go away, or must I change medication. ## If it's limited to one hand or one finger, then I have doubts that it's been caused by the Doxycycline as the reactions it causes usually encompass most of your body. My husband is taking pink and blue 45A. He says there is a strong garlic taste. Is this normal? ## This contains 500mgs of Amoxicillin and I've never noted it as being like garlic, but the taste can definitely be unpleasant. Really, if he's tasting them, then it's likely that he isn't taking them properly. I have found tablets in my house - green oblong capsules with a large white capital G on the left half and DE100 written smaller and in white on the other. What are they? My son was previosuly taking doxycycline and claims this is what they are - but they definitely aren't the same pills as before. dark urine since taking 500-125? ## Hi David, Abnormally-colored urine is actually noted to be a severe side effect of Amoxicillin. In this case, it may be a good idea to consider contacting your doctor about switching antibiotics or opting for a more natural alternative to Amoxicillin. I believe there are some other natural antibiotics out there that could be just as effective, however, without the side effects. I just finished taking Amox-Clav 875MG. for 7, days, 2 a day for a dog bite. 2 days after taking my last pill, I have become very sick with diarrehea, and feel like I have a fever, but do not. Just wondering if there can be any liver damage over the long term to keep me from having chronic UTI. I have been on Sulfam for three years as an antibiotic. ## Well, I can't say that you will suffer any such damage, but yes the possibility is there. I failed a drug/alcohol test and do not drink or do drugs. I just started taking doxtcycline ad nasa spray. Cold either of these effect my urine screen? ## What specifically did you fail for?
