my tooth flared out again, the dentist gave me erythromycinbs instead of pulling it. I had some left, so I starting taking it again. I didn't want it pulled. I know I am prolonging it being pulled. I'm taking sulfameth for UTI but the pills are to big for me to swallow, does anyone know if you can chew or crush them? Thanks! ## I am not an MD, but I can offer you my personal educated opinion. If the pill is a capsule you can certainly open most capsules to release its contents into water to make it easier to take down. If that's not the case, then crushing the solid pill into smaller pieces would not alter its chemical makeup; it would only divide the dosage up into smaller parts. Sometimes pills accidentally break on their own from falling on the floor or getting squished, but they are still usable in most cases. I hope my opinion somewhat helps in your decision. No you can buy Mycitracin over the counter and I have used if and bought it over the counter for 30 years up til now I can't seem to locate stores that sell it.
