I have frequent uti's. Is it a good idea to take a small dose of an antibiotic daily to ward off infection? ## Hello, Charlotte! How are you? Some people do need to do that, when they get them regularly. Only your doctor can decide if it's right for you to do so, but it's worth asking them about it. The FDA lists the typical antibiotic side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

Will augmentin clear up a venereal disease? ## It depends on which STI is being treated. Well I took the prescription completely and doing everything I was told to do... After 3 weeks I am sick again !!!! I am still hurting in my left side but now have a really bad cough to where I can't sleep from coughing up my lungs it feels like (extreme head ache, green phlem, wheezing, wanting to rip anyone's head off) and I have had a rash twice now! Started on my hands went away and now on my throat, chest, and shoulders!!! After a $14,000 hospital bill I can't pay with no insurance. I have swelling in my face on one side and feel like my ears are sounding like I'm in a tunnel and in pain. I have 10 pills. It says take twice a day. Also prescribed 5mg oxycodone tabs for pain. First day I felt fine after taking the Bratrim ds generic and the pain pills helped my pain. The second day i woke with a little more swelling and a headache and feeling a little nausea. Does this sound right and do the two meds go together alright? I also just have wanted to sleep all day today. Just wanting to know if this is normal? ## Hello, Carmen! How are you? Has there been any change? The general rule with antibiotics is that you shouldn't see any worsening after taking them for a full 24 hours. If you do, then that particular antibiotic may not be working for you and you need t...

my baby at 8 days old was diagnosed with MRSA in his eyes. We've been on iv antibiotics and when he was sent home he was prescribed clindamycin in an oral form. 2 1/2 ML for 5 days. Well the MRSA returned shortly after we finished the 5 days. So he is back on it for 10 days. My question is we are using the same bottle of clindamycin that is now 2 weeks old. Do we need to get a prescription for a new bottle of clindamycin? As you know MRSA is a nightmare and very hard to get rid of. I want him to be getting the best medication he can get. ## Hello, Jessica! How is your son doing? Most liquid medications do expire fairly quickly, but there should be an expiration date on the bottle to be sure. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizz...

Light Blue color Oval shape EC on one side Blank other side ## I found a similar pill. Have you found anything on it ? Thx ## I located a similar description of a white oval pill with EC on one side (and an "a" symbol on the other) that is reportedly identified as 250mg Ery-Tab (erythromycin), used for treating various types of bacterial infections. Apparently it's made by a company called Abbott Labs. The pill described above is also depicted as being approx. 15mm in size. Does any of that information ring a bell based on what you think you might've had from past prescriptions, etc? I hope this helps! ## It's diphenhydramine. 25mg. Sleeping aid or medication used for allergic reactions.

I have a pkg.of Orange. And White capsulas.of Butimaxil /Dicloxacilina 500 mg.from mexico can i use them. For tooth ache. ## Hello, Melissa! How are you? This is an antibiotic, so it will only help if you have a dental infection and then they can be taken, if your dentist deems it appropriate. However, it will not treat whatever the underlying cause is that has caused the ache, such as a deep cary, exposed root, or etc., so you will still need dental work to correct the issue. Hello, I recently went to the dentist due to tooth pain in one of my wisdom teeth. after finding out that I had a tooth infection i was prescribed 10 days worth of amoxicillin, having finished this yesterday I still have tooth pain but, a considerably less amount of pain. I'm wanting to know if this means that the tooth will have to be extracted? Also, i have two 875mg tabs of amoxicillin for an infection in September should i take this in the hopes to still get rid of the infection and or to keep myself on the antibiotic so that my infection doesn't grow resistant to it. Tomorrow is Sunday so I wont be able to contact my dentist until Monday or possibly Tuesday if he celebrates president day. ## An antibiotic only helps eradicate the bacteria that causes an infection, it does n...

I was prescribed 1000 mg amoxicillin for a badly infected finger. The pharmacist didn't have the exact drug so gave me amox tr-k clv 500 mg plus amoxicillin 500 mg to take together. The bottle for amoxicillin also says augmentin 500 mg. Within an hour of taking the first dosage, I became violently ill. I immediately discontinued both products but remained violently ill for over 18 hours, vomiting at intervals of no more than 30 minutes for the entire time. 15 days later, I still feel weak and listless. Any idea what caused this? ## Hello, Greg! How are you? Have you ever taken Amoxicillin before? It seems like either it, or the clavulanic acid in the Augmentin disagrees with you. I experienced similar issues several years ago, just before the rash and hives broke out 9 days into my ...

I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between this antibiotic and the various Theraflu tea products, but it's always best to double check to be sure. I chipped one of my back molars and a few days later I woke up with a swollen face and tooth pain, so I immediately went to an urgent care clinic and was examined by a doctor. The doctor prescribed me hydrocodone for the tooth pain and Septra DS for the infection in the tooth, and the next day I got into to see my dentist for X-ray and exam. Afterward, I explained to my dentist everything I mentioned above about seeing an Urgent Care clinic and what I was prescribed. My dentist confirmed with me that the antibiotic Septra was fine to take for my tooth infection. However, I am now doing research on the internet about what doctors/dentists typically prescribe for a tooth abscess and all the results is showing amoxicillin and other types of penicillin as a first choice antibiotic, so now I...

72 year old male, had colon surgery a month ago. now skin itching on the back and legs. ## Hello, Zeke! How are you? Are you on any other medications? If you had to take medications to clean your colon out, before the surgery, there's a chance you're dehydrated and your skin is drying out. I've experienced that myself, when I was in the hospital for congestive heart failure. My skin got so dry and itchy that it was actually peeling off, like a healing sunburn. Have you had it checked out by your doctor? The FDA does list that antibiotics can cause a non-allergic skin rash, as well as an allergic rash, so you should have this looked at.

I have a slight fever and coughing and chest hurts. I have a bottle of zertalin azitromicini 6 500 mg tablets. This is a z-pack. Do I take one a day for six days.? ## I have a slight fever cough chest congestion and chest hurts when I cough. I took 1 500 mg of zertalin azithromycin today. There r 6 in the bottle. Do I take 1 per day for 6days ## Hello, Doreen! How are you feeling? This is an antibiotic, so it should only be taken, if your doctor confirms the presence of an infection. If you have a cold, it is caused by a virus, not a bacterial infection, so antibiotics aren't appropriate and will do nothing to treat it. The normal dosing, for many infections, is a 500mg starter dose, the 250mgs per day for the next 4 days. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including...
