I am on an antibiotic for herpes. The instructions say to take one pill 5 times per day. Do I need to wake up at night to take it? I can only take it during the day between 5 am and 9 pm.

Hi Patty - Exactly which medication have you been prescribed?
To answer your question, no, you should not have to wake up to take a dose unless is specifically says so in the instructions given to you. Otherwise, you can space the 5 doses among the hours that you are awake. So, if you are awake from 5 am to 9 pm, that is 16 hours of being awake. 16 hours / 5 doses = one dose approximately every 3 hours or so. Do the instructions say that it can be taken with or without food? I hope this helps and best wishes!
