Antibiotic Smz Tmp Ds 800 160 My Experience

I began taking this medication on Tuesday. I understand it is the generic versions of Bactrim. I immediately felt a relief in the congestion and went on to take the 2nd and 3rd dose on Wednesday. While sleeping, I awoke with cramps up and down my thighs and calf. To say the least, that was a sleepless night. I telephoned my doctor the next day, on Thursday, to question with this could be a side affect of the drug. He did not believe so. By mid-day on Thursday, I could not stand in one spot for more than a minute. My legs and feet began to ache and forced me to sit. I have been in excrutiating pain. I returned to my Doctor on Friday and he suggested I stop the medication. I went directly to the Emergency to get a blood analysis. Everything came back fine. Again the doctor in the hospital said it is not one of the common side effects but it is a side effect. No more SMZ TMP DS 800 160 for me!
I don't even want to think about trying the Bantrim.

You are not the first person who has posted about experiencing these types of side effects from this medication. There have been several people that have experienced similar problems and had to stop taking it for that reason.
