Amoxicillin And No Infection

Hello, I was prescribed amoxicillin for my tooth. It is decaying. It's black, but what do you expect? Ha. Anyways I have no signs of infection (I don't think) and by that I mean I don't have any swelling. It hurts (of corse half my tooth is gone), but that's it. She had a very strong accent and I think she said when it starts sweeping just start taking them. The prescription says start taking them ASAP... But I guess I'm battling an issue with myself because I don't feel an infection? So why should I take them?

Hello, Spaz! How are you?

If the tooth hurts and is blackened, then there most likely is an infection. Otherwise, it would only be sensitive to something very hot or cold, when you eat or drink.

This antibiotic may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

Have you tried calling them to double check?
