Hi Jennifer,
From what I can find, the usual dose for a child greater than 3 months old (with a mild/moderate ear infection) is (25 mg/kg) per day in divided doses every 12 hours- or (20 mg/kg) per day in divided doses every 8 hours. Is 1 teaspoon twice a day of 400 mg Amoxicillin suspension what your doctor prescribed? If so, I don't see why it wouldn't be correct.
