Amoxicillin Clavulanic Acid 875 Mg For Periocular Cellulitis From A Stye

I have a bad stye on my lower eyelid and it is causing my eye to become red. Can I use Amoxicillin-Clavulanic acid 875mg for my eye? Last time I had this I had periocular cellulitis and I have the same symptoms. I was given Keflex, but I have a prescription for this medication.

It may help, but you should not take it, unless your medical provider approves, because antibiotics should not be overused.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and diarrhea.

Has any testing been done to see what's causing them?

I used to get them, while married to my ex-husband, but I haven't gotten one in years. (I said this, so I will likely develop one soon. LOL) Anyway, I never thought to speak to my doctor and have them checked out.
