Amoxicillin 875 Clav K 125 Tab For Uti

I have a UTI, I am going crazy, my Dr. can't get me in for four days and there is no way I can take any more of this. I have Amoxicillin 875/ Clav K 125 Tab (whatever that means) that I was prescribed for a sinus infection that went away on its own. Can I use this for my UTI? I have the full prescription right here. Ugh that would be a God send. Cranberry is only keeping some of the pain away.

I went to Wake Forrest hospital for a laminectomy, complete fusion of lower lumbar with allot of hardware. It fell and fractured my sacram. The doctors hid it. Finally, without admitting fault, nine months later, put bars from each hip to my sacram to hold it in place.(at no charge) When I got notes, they rebuilt the fallen sugury at that time. It caused a neurogenic bowel and bladder, and no intimate feeling. Three urologists have told me there is no fix for me. I have had seven years on continuous UTI's due to having to Cath six times daily. I am immune to many antibiotics including Cipro, and Keflex. I am now on a 10 day 3x a day Amoxi-Clav. I am having really bad side effects. Just saying, even good surgeons screw up, and they will hide it, to protect their records. Wondering how long before no antibiotic will work for me.
I had a stomach ulcer flare up on Thursday. I thought it was just the stomach flu and couldn't get into my dr. on Friday. So I started on amoxicillin clavulanate 875. It seems to really be working. Should I see the dr or run the prescription out?
I've had a UTI for almost 3 months. Went through the 'typically' prescribed drugs (cipro, which was horrible for me), and Macrobid... got no relief, only terrible side effects. Saw a different doctor and was prescribed amox-clav. Just started it, but have already felt relief and I can tolerate this drug! I have hope!
AUGMENTIN, (which is Amox/clav) is regularly prescribed for UTI.
But i dont recommend taking it unless you know correct dosage for a uti, and its a recent script, and you have the full amount necessary to fully get rid of the infection (7-10) days
Yea, actually thats extremely rare and wrong. AMOXICILLIN is commonly prescribed antibiotic for UTIs, and Amox/Clav is often prescribed when others fail.
Dont post things you have half knowledge on please.
Amoxicillin only "causes" (and i use quotes because its not very common) utis in people WHO DONT ALREADY HAVE ONE, and other antibiotics can have the same effect because *they are antibiotics*.
If you already have one, its very useful, and its prescribed regularly for UTI.
Did the amoxi clav work? Just curious as no have tried 2 antibiotics (bactrim aka septra, and cipro) and they both failed. I'm now on amoxi clav for 5 days, 876/125.
Absolutely you can, and should!
In fact, after I've taken 2 other antibiotics for a nasty UTI that will JUST NOT GO AWAY, my doctor prescribed Amox/K Clav 875-125 FOR my uti.
Im taking one every 12 hrs for 7 days.
Amoxcillin will not treat uti's. It can actually cause your uti to get worse or even get one if you dont already have one.
taking amox clav for diverticulosis now showing clear discharge? normal?
I have a uti, did the over the counter test, everything shows a strong positive. mty doctor is on vacation, i usually take batrim but I'm out. I have some old cipro and some fairly recent augmentim. 2 days until cChristmas 5 kids yikes. help
I have an UTI and was prescribed Pinaclav 500/125MG CO-Amoxic. 1 x twice daily for 5 days. I am on my 4th day and the symptoms are still there. Was I prescribed the right dosage?
Amoxicillin with Clavulanic Acid, the active ingredients in Augmentin, is an antibiotic that is used to treat various types of infections, however, it may not actually help in the case of a UTI.
Overuse has caused it to become ineffective for treating these types of infections in a large percentage of people, which is why it is no longer the first choice antibiotic for treating them.
The dosing standard was to use it 3 times a day for about 7 days.
However, as I said, it is really not the first choice treatment and you do need to see your doctor for a different antibiotic.
