Amoxicillin 500mg Capsule Dosage

As part of flu, I had congetion with flum accumulation. Tried a course of mild antibiotics 250 mg but still traces of flum used to come out with cough. So I thought of taking Amox-500 mg (it was available at home). After taking tablet I realized that I shouldn't have taken such a strong dose and now I want to stop. Please let me know if this has any side effects or relapse of lung infecton?

Was an infection confirmed by a doctor?

A flu isn't caused by a bacterial infection, it is caused by a virus and antibiotics will not be effective at treating it, or its symptoms. They are only effective against bacterial infections.

However, if it was an infection and your doctor told you take the antibiotics for a certain period of time and you didn't, yes there is the risk of the infection still being present.
