My son has acne on his chest and back. He is going to join the Army and we have been told that the acne can disqualify him. Our doctor has prescribed Amox/Clav. He has his physical in 2 weeks. What are the chances of the acne clearing up by then. Hoping for a huge miracle here!!

It really depends on the type and severity of the acne, for some severe forms, yes they would fail him on the physical.

The issue, however, is that is usually takes longer than 2 weeks for an antibiotic to clear it up and for it to stay cleared up, the person usually takes a low dose for a long time period.
And is there any special reason the doctor prescribed this antibiotic, a generic for Augmentin?
Usually the preferred one is Doxycycline.
