I was given Amoc-Clav 875 mg 2 times a day for 7 days by Dr. due to slight infection in area of surgery. Surgery was for fishur and this appeared about 3 weeks post surgery in area the cur spinktor muscel. Hope it works.

oh, forgot to mention - after several bouts of unsuccessful antibiotics last fall and again this fall, I'm now on the 875/125 amoxi clav for 4 weeks, with an additional 2 weeks if needed. Thanks for all the input about it. It has progressed from nasal to my chest so sure hope I can last the month and get rid of it once and for all! Only taken 2 so far.

Just checking to make sure you don't swallow the salty nasal rinse - if you hold your head down and on the side it should run out the other nostril, lowest to the sink. Also good is to inhale steam. Put boiling water into a container (I prefer a glass measuring cup with a handle, just easier) and put a drop or two of eucalyptus and peppermint oil OR vicks vapour rub, OR organic apple cider which has healing properties. Inhale with a towel over your head for 5-10 minutes for nasal relief. It loosens up the mucous and makes the saline rinse more effective too. Sure helps me - a chronic sinus and allergy sufferer.

sinius: also do sinius wash with squeeze bottle plus a
tiny pinch of red pepper in the solution
also take de-oderized garlic capsules with an enzyne
capsule to prevent the burp aftereffects--garlic & red
pepper both kill virius

my husband has been on Amox-Clav 875mg for 4 days now for dizziness. Doctor said it was an infection behind the inner ear. He hasn't felt good at all and hasn't slept for 2 nights now he has terrible cold sweats all night and feels sick. I didn't see sweats on the side effects but he won't be taking any more Amox-Clav.

I was prescribed this 4 days ago for a horrible ear infection brought on by a sinus infection, and no relief. I am wondering if it's not bacterial and maybe should be prescribed something different to relieve the pressure and pain?

Nope not feeling any better. Doctor sent me for xrays. In fact, I'm in pain right now so I better go and pop some more tylenol for relief...(sigh)...

Hi everyone I too just was given this antibiotic today for a terrible sinus infection, I have had pain now for near 2 weeks, waking up with headache has not been fun, last 2 days it was all across my eyebrow and now side of nose and cheekbone, I have had it before but not been given this tablet,.He also gave panadiene forte which i most likely wont use,I prefer to use whatevers natural and non addictive where possible, so if that means 1 or 2 more days of pain so be it. Might try snorting salt ocean water, told its fantastic for sinus probably make me vomit though lol, good luck all

This is my third day taking this medicine and I feel no relief. I have severe sinus infection primarily affecting my right side by my eye socket, cheek, and jaw. The pain is so horrible. Hope I can feel some relief soon!

I was taking this medicine for a sinus infection and won't ever again. It was way too strong fir me since I am only 105 lbs. I ended up getting c diff. And the dr. Said it was from the medicine. I would suggest anyone who doesn't weigh alot ask for another medication or eat a ton of yogurt, that does help because the c diff. Was so severe I was hospitalized. And all because of being on this medicine.

I was prescribed Amox-Clav 875MG for a 10 day treatment of a sinus infection (2nd one in 6 months). Taking this for 4 days now and I'm feeling much better. I did have to stay close to the bathroom on day 3. Next time I'll try eating yogurt with it like another poster mentioned.

I was prescribed Amox-Clav after being bitten by a dog (no infection at the time it was prescribed, but I read that the majority of dog bites become infected). This is my second day on it (fourth pill). I felt fine after the first three, but today I feel nauseated and groggy.

I was prescribed amox-clav 875/125mg
for a sinus infection that was found after an MRI was performed. The MRI results read: There is a retention cyst in the left maxillary sinus and mucosal thickening in the left sphenoid sinus. After taking these meds along with an inhaler (flunisolide). I feel much better. I've had this problem for years and I am blessed to find out that it is only a sinus infection.

I got a script last night at the ER for this....cat bite to upper lip - they gave it to me to prevent an infection ... but all I have found states it's for an existing infection.
1 pill down and yeah, hit the bathroom many times but had IV antibiotics last night to.
Has anyone heard of prescribing in a preventative means?

I just wanted to say that I have done hydrogen peroxide but I DID NOT swallow. Pleease respone with any respone that can help thanks

I have one swollen tonsil and one pus pocket on throat. Hurts mostly in the morn. I am stuck in bed wit foot surgery and can't get to doctor. There is amox-clav and amoxicillian in the medicine cabinet. (can't find penicillian) can anyone give me the name of correct meicine to take? I will find it if you are sure that it is for sore throat.. Gargle with warm salt water helps but doesnt cure.
How about gargling with hydrogen peroxide....(just done swallow- I know) Help me please

I am on it now. Had complaints about constant dizziness for the last four month. After an MRI was prescibed Amox-Clav as MRI revealed an inflamation behind the inner ear. Been on it now for two days, and today I feel terrible...more dizzy after getting a little better prior to taken this drug, hope they are not side effects...need no more dizzyness.

I'm on amox-clav 875mg for a nasty sinus infection. I have recurrent sinus infections, and this is my first time on the drug. After two pills (that's one day of the medicine) I am already feeling sweet relief. No side effects and I now look at this med with reverence.

I am taking amox-clav for a sinus infection that has been lingering for a few weeks. To avoid being ill you should eat yogurt with this medication. I have not had any negative side effects from taking this medication.
