Amox Tr K Clv Med And Mouth Discomfort

This medication has caused me sever tounge pain. sore tender and all white. My infection has cleared up but my mouth hurts realy bad feels like a=i have a large amount of acidity inside.

This medication dis the same to my husband who was taking it for a UTI, bladder and kidney infection. It did not clear up the infection and now he cannot seem to get rid of the 'thrush' in his mouth which is actually a growth caused by this med killing the good bacteria and allowing it to happen. try taking acidiphilus or any good probiotic....

You should get a prescription from your doctor for troche or for a liquid called Nystatin. It is a yeast infection from the antibiotic. When we take them they also kill the good germs we have in our mouth and other places. This will quickly help the problem. Call the doctor in the morning and get some help.

yes, the doc gave him the troche and the mouthwash, but it takes a very long time to go away. Now he gave him keflex because he still has the UTI. Any suggestions?

Try to get him to eat some yogurt, that will help some but yes it takes awhile to get rid of and if he is on Keflex, that will make it harder to go away till he is off of that. Keep using the troches and moutwash.

Yes, oral yeast infections, which are commonly called Thrush can be caused by antibiotics.

In addition to what your doctor has advised, the other suggestions here are also good ones.

Eating yogurt, with live active cultures can help, but you do need to let each mouthful sit in your mouth for a minute, or so, before swallowing.

Apple cider vinegar can also be used as a mouth rinse, you place a few tablespoons in water and rinse with it, then spit it out.

Using an old, soft toothbrush to gently loosen and work off some of the white yeast gunk you see in your mouth can also help. Spit the gunk out and then discard the toothbrush.
