Amox Tr K Clv 875 125mg Can You Pleeeease Help??

I have always had problems with contracting a UTI, since I was a newborn, at least this is what my mother tells me. I have had 2 UTIs within the past 12 months, and although it has been several months since the previous I am pretty sure I have another one (early stages) and considering I have had quite the painful experience time and again, I have a medication ---Amox Tr K Clv 875-125mg from a few months back I had somehow ended up with 2 of the same perscription so therefore this perscription is a full one with a quant. of 10, the question is I am not positive if this was actually perscribed for my UTI, because I am allergic to Penni. and I am pretty sure the doc's perscribe me Amox for just about everything... so can you help me out and tell me if this script is actually perscribed for UTI's and if so would it be safe to start taking this medication considering it is several months old (not expired) and is in full quant. OR should I wait to see if the doctor's office will ever call me back with an opening for an appointment..(which will cost me quite some $$ that I can not exactly afford right now)..Please help me as I am in pain, and can't take the running to the bathroom every 15 min.

It is always best to consult a doctor, to confirm the presence of an infection, before using an antibiotic, because it will not help with other conditions and if it is used inappropriately, you run the risk of developing antibiotic resistance.

However, Amoxicillin with Clavulanic Acid, the active ingredients in Augmentin, can be used to treat many types of infections, including UTIs, though it is not always the first choice drug for them.

It may cause side effects, such as: nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
