Amox Pot Clav 875 Mg Subcribed

I have been taking 2 pills a day of this for eight days. It was prescribed to me to prevent infection in a ruptured ear drum. The last few days I feel as if I have come down with a head cold. My sinuses are dripping constantly and I am sneezing. How is this possible with all this atibiotics in me?

Simply because a cold is not caused by an infection, a cold is caused by a virus and therefore the antibiotics will have no effect on preventing it or helping it to clear up.

An antibiotic is only effective at preventing or treating infections.


The antibiotic may cause some side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, skin rash and diarrhea.

The cold may also make the diarrhea worse, so you need to be careful and make sure you take in a lot of fluids to prevent dehydration.
