Amox/k Clav 500 Mg Tab Side Effects

am taking l tab three times a day to treat a sever dental infection. Is an upset stomach with lots of belching common? also have very tight abdominal muscles and constipation. Oh yes..much back pain. Dose this sound like possible effects?

The upset stomach and gassiness can be normal side effects, but the constipation and back pain aren't, though it is difficult to guess how any medication will affect any given person that takes it.

Have you talked to your doctor about this, yet?

Yes. went to the Er. Was treated for gastritis (ulcer). They said that this often translates to back pain as well as the other symtons . The constipation was a a non isssue. Stress from the tooth problem and the perscription antibiotic was just to much for my stomach.

Lee, Gastritis is a bit different than an ulcer, because rather than one area of your stomach, it basically involves the entire stomach, which is why the pain can radiate so severely.

I was diagnosed with everything from chronic back pain to pancreatitis, until I finally ended up in the ER, a few years later, with a doctor that diagnosed it correctly and put me on the proper treatment. After several months of it, I rarely have any problems with my stomach, now.

treated at the hospital with an oral concoction of pain releiver,sucralfate, and malox....plus an IV of something else(?).
Sent home with perscription for sucralfate and prilosec

From experience, I'm going to let you know to be careful with the Prilosec, it can actually cause stomach pain as a side effect.

It's their first choice for stomach problems, but when I ended up in the ER again, in severe pain, the doctor there had me stop using it and switch to Pepcid, which finally worked great for me.

So, if they pain gets worse, then see your doctor, as soon as possible, as the Prilosec may be aggravating it.

Also anything severely acidic, or spicy will aggravate it, so you may want to try to avoid these types of foods and beverages for awhile. I'm finally at the point where I can eat whatever I want, but it did take a few months.
