Amox Clav 875mg Safety

I took my first dosage of amox clav and about two hours later i throw up. I was just wondering what if that was a side effect or should i call my dr an get seen again??

My doctor prescribed four 500 mg amoxicillin tabs every 4 hrs 4 times a day for a bacterial infection in the stomach. Does that sound like a mistake? I'm afraid to take all those.

Ugh, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I just went through the same thing. About 2-3hrs after taking it I started throwing up. This went on for a few hours, it was terrible. It sucks, cause I was really hoping this med would help me but I'm afraid to take another pill after that.

Yes, this antibiotic can cause nausea as a side effect, along with dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

You should always double check such an issue with your doctor, to be sure, but as I said, it is a known side effect. However, it may cause a problem if you vomit too soon after taking it, so you aren't absorbing the medication, but 2 hours should be okay.

I just the same medicine and I'm feeling sick to my stomach also. I have stomach problem already so I don't know if it is the medicine or not. I guess if it doesn't get better I would call your doctor.
