Amneal Oxycodone (generic Percocet) 10 325 (Page 2) (Top voted first)

Updated

Amneal's oxycodone, generic for percocet 10/325 is white, oblong, blank on one side, and imprinted with IP 204 (not IP 203)! I usually take Watson or Mallinckrodt, 10/325, (2) tablets every 4-6 hours (240 monthly), but I was given Amneal today when filling my script, and I am not happy! I have cancer, and I also take morphine sulphate 30 mgs as well (1 every 12 hours), and Fioricet with Codeine for severe migraines (as needed)! I do not feel Amneal is sufficient or even close to the chemical makeup as Watson or Mallinckrodt for controlling pain/chronic pain! Amneal does not act the same way on my body, and I should not have to take more for same result! I think when you pay cash for your medications, and have been on the medication for 8 years, using the same pharmacy, they should order what helps you! The pharmacist says he has been ordering Watson 10/325 and Mallinckrodt 10/325, but they are only sending him Amneal! I am not happy, as I pay over $300 out of my own pocket for the my generic oxycodone alone! Pharmacist says he has to take what is shipped to him! Not sure I like that answer, but I checked 7 pharmacies within a 10 mile radius of me, and they all are stating the same fact, and substituting Watson or Mallinckrodt with Amneal! What is going on with ocycodone, generic percocet 10/325? Whatever it is, I don't like it? Generics are NOT all created equal as they say they are! It sucks to have to rely on medications to live, but what else are we to do! Thank you all for reading this! Love to all! <3

Hi first I am sorry to hear you have Cancer! I feel you pain I have a broken neck and thanks to the good Lord I can still walk. I have been taken Pain medicine for 18 years now. Up until 8 months ago I had no problem I told the Pharmacist that I wanted Watson that seemed to be the only pills that worked for me 10/325.Then all of a sudden I received Amneal advb. Amne it was terrible. I suffered all month and I got on the phone and started calling every Pharmacy and much to my surprise every place I called I was told that's all they will send us? Why in United States of America can we not have a choice? Amneal is made in India and a handful of other out of Countries? Why is this happening and why do we all have to suffer??? Call all your drug stores they are all caring the same product what do we do how can we as USA Citizens not be able to have a choice? I have been working on this for months now and I have not gotten to the bottom of this but please please speak up to the Pharmacy Managers whoever you must speak to and see if you can get some answers. I will post if I find out more.

Only 20% of the Generic versions of brand name pain meds are as good as the real thing...Everyone is basically trying to get their beak wet and are doing a piss poor job at...As for Percocet the worst generic version is the yellow circle pills with a V on it...Their not 10/325 but they're register as such and they do not last long either...The main issue with the generic pain meds is that they're not strong enough and don't last long enough...So if you have experienced this problem with generic meds please do not think your mind is playing tricks on you...It's definitely the medication.

I'm now back on 5 norco a day and the new pharmacy also claims not to have name brand and it will take days to order it same bs w the percocet and these i**** drs refuse to write saying its illegal a prescription for the days of waiting instead they'll for e me into withdrawals i guess?? This isnt right ive called 6 pharmacies and all claim not to carry name brane norco or oxycodone..so what do i do??5 norco isn't cutting it i used to take 5 norco and 1 ks contin at night and i was doing ol but since relocating they refuse to keep me on the ms contin and my life has been a living hell ive been unable to work or do anything and ssdi isnt enough to survive on so guess ill plan on being homeless soon.

Some people seem to notice no difference between generic brands. Others, like my mother and myself, experience huge differences not only with pain medications but other classes of medications as well. I attribute that to the various fillers different companies use.

My mother pays extra to get the name brand of the beta blocker she takes because most of the generics she's tried don't work. I take that same medication but the generics seem to work ok for me with only a couple of exceptions. The worst was Dr. Reddy's, so I now know to ask what brand the pharmacy is stocking that day whenever I get a refill so I can avoid getting one of the generics that doesn't work as well.

I am a chronic pain patient allowed 3 to 4 Percocet 10/325 a day. I was switched to this medication around the time Watson was bought by Actavis, so I had only 2 or 3 prescriptions filled with Watson and they worked fine. My pharmacy then switched to Actavis which worked ok the first year albeit never quite as effectively as the Watsons, but in recent months the Actavis seem to be getting weaker with each new prescription. I have had to have to take 1.5 or even 2 of the Actavis to achieve any pain relief which meant rationing pills and taking only 2 doses a day, and even then I was running out before the end of every month. I'm obviously not dependent on this medication since I never have any withdrawal symptoms beyond some occasional mild abdominal cramping and "looseness."

I've always had a high tolerance to pain medications and never experienced any side effects from them such as drowsiness, a buzz, or digestive issues, but my last few prescriptions of Actavis seemed to have a delayed sedative/depressive effect without ever helping much with the pain. I was afraid I was becoming more tolerant, although it seemed strange that they would now sometimes make me sleepy when they never had before. My tolerance to the stronger medications given during hospitalizations, which is still very high, does not seem to have increased any.

The only other brands of Percocet I've been able to find at local pharmacies are Mallinckrodt and Alvogen. Neither of these was nearly as effective as the Actavis on its worst day, so I just continued to get the Actavis. In fact, over the years I have tried Mallinckrodt Norco, plain oxycodone, and Percocet (at different times... I was never prescribed all three at the same time) when the pharmacy made a switch to the Mallinckrodt without my knowledge, and none seemed any more effective than taking a couple of aspirin. The Mallinckrodt Norco was so worthless the pharmacy generously switched out at no charge what I had not taken for the Qualitest brand I'd always gotten before.

I recently learned a local pharmacy stocks the Amneal brand of Percocet. I read many reviews in which people described Amneal as the least effective brand of all, so I was kind of dubious, but the Actavis had become so ineffective I thought I had nothing to lose besides a month in more pain to try it.

Much to my surprise Amneal is the most effective brand I've tried with the possible exception of the old Watsons. One Amneal tablet of the same strength is more effective than 2 Actavis. I don't remember much about the Watson, so it may be that Amneal is truly the most effective brand I've tried.

The first thing I noticed was the Amneal pills are the same shape and size as the Actavis with one exception. They're about half the thickness of the Actavis, so that indicates to me Actavis is using more fillers. The Amneal work very quickly and effectively for me.

Your experience may differ. This is strictly mine. Everyone has to find what works best for them, but while the active ingredients are the same, fillers can render certain brands less effective for some people. This is NOT an imaginary phenomenon.

I have the same problem, your doctor is doing that and try to sell you bulls***. Tell your doctor not to put amneal on your script and go to Harris Teeter. I let walgreens go because of this. They think our pain is a joke to them.

I totally understand all this! For months dr changed me from roxicodone to percocet ever since the change i have not had relief scared to say anything to my dr so after a very painful RFA treatment in my neck And meds not working i decided to tapper off since it not working why take it! no more or less pain until i swept and moped my floor duh! ER trip for anti inflamitory shot yay i hate needles! With still questions as to why one med works and another dont i found info about amneal. Ok so i looked at my bottle says amneal! Called pharmacy asked them since i have been taking this what brand have i been given AMNEAL! I told her about my concerns saying i go in morning to dr. She said to talk to him that maybe the fillers are affecting me. (My mom cant take some genarics cause of fillers already)
Im 38 have osteoarthritis in lower back and neck as well as degenerated disks in both too. RFA has helped with the bad headaches and shoulder is still hurting but no headaches big plus fir me!

I have been researching this whole thing since watson 10/325 have been replaced with activis. very sucky. Watson no longer manufactured. I would stick with the M's. This month I will be getting oxycodone 10mg. Going to see how those compare to M's .Your insurance plan must really suck. Under my plan, I pay $5 for 120 tabs. Also, you might change pharmacies because my pharmacy will special order any generic I want. Good luck to you

you are right. The fillers in cheap generics cause stomach problems, because they use the acideminiphin to attempt to control the pain, when they have reduced the oxy by over 20 %. The brand will work. But Its very expensive unless you have really really good insurance.Get off of Watson. Look for Amneal. Its not great, and only lasts for 3 and a half hours, but its better than watson.

The exact same problems I have been having when picking up my meds! I researched this and also contacted Watson pharmaceuticals and the problem is, is that they no longer exist or produce the Watson brand pain meds any longer. This Amnio company is who took over Watson thus the result of these new meds they are producing. I too, am not experiencing any pain relief from the new meds from this company and have actually contacted them and put in a complaint. I have had no choice but to try all these other brands of percocet that the pharmacies carry now and have not been able to achieve the same pain relief from any of them! I've also discussed this issue with my prescribing doctor and basically there's nothing anyone can do. And believe me I'm concerned and extremely pissed with all of this myself! Im searching for a better solution but have not been successful as of yet. Watson was the ONLY brand that worked for my pain.

Just like all of you I have had to be careful with which manufacturer of the generic Percocet I take. For a few years now Watson does nothing for my pain, but makes me itch. So I told pharmacist no Watson brand. All was good until a few months ago. Apparently the manufacturer that they were giving me is no longer producing?? So now I've noticed that I'm having stomach issues and the meds aren't effective for all my pain issues. (RA, DDD, OA, and other chronic pain issues). The brand I have now is Rhodes and it socks! Going to be doing a lot more research to see what I can find that will actually work. I can no longer have any more epidural inj's. or facet inj's. Basically no steroids. I have issues with them. So this is now my only pain relief. I hope for all our sakes that enough complaints can be made to get things changed. Start typing those letters!

I have a filled script to pick up abd it's always been endocet but it's Amneal and after looking at so many rrevies, I will not pick it up as why does FDA LIE about effects and active ingredients being the equivalent of brand?

You know you are right - I just realized that I have been having trouble sleeping since my pharmacy switched to the Amneal brand. I was on Mallinkrodt for 2 years for cancer issues. Amneal gives me bloating, extremely dry mouth, no pain relief. Pharmacy said they don't make them anymore. I called M - their reply : Your pharmacy is lying!!! When you wrote that you have not been sleeping, I realized it's been the same for me since I started on them. How awful that we don't get a choice in the generic field either.. Disgusted.

Face the facts folks, the percocets are crap these days. Norco 10/325 are better. Actavis, amneal, and aurobino brands of percocet are garbage. The feds r controlling your medz.

CVS pharmacys have started pushing this useless drug. After your insurance pays they won't pay for it twice to get the pain taken care of.
Doctors don't want to get involved so the patient suffers through the pain. CRIMINAL.

Dolly I agree. I had one month of activists killed my tummy, awful, because of the A333 watson perks, I'm ok with the amneal, I think my body is looking for the round yellow Alvogen brand I've been taking last 2years. Ill report back if the amneal actually start working
