Amneal Hydrocodone Ip 109
UpdatedTaking it for 3 yrs, back pain getting worse on 2 per day. The state is clamping down on opioids. What could my doctor prescribe for me at this point?

Even with the clamp downs going on, your doctor can still prescribe necessary medications, they just have to be careful how much they prescribe and make sure there is a legitimate reason for the patient to need them. If the person has a possibly fatal illness, such as stage 4 cancer, such restrictions set forth by the DEA, exclude them.
Too many doctors were prescribing pain medications, without verifying that a patient had a real reason to need them.
The tablet you've mentioned is the 5/325mg dosage, so if your doctor things it may help, there is a 7.5/325mg dose and a 10/325mg that they could prescribe for you.
The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Is there anything else I can help with?
Re: Verwon (# 1)
This is true, Vernon, too many people were getting prescribed very strong opioids for very petty aches and pains and since doctors have clamped down on this some just cannot give them up, they need to accept that they won't be getting them anymore and seek help if they can't get over their cravings and or addiction. I know someone who gets like 400 of 30 mg. morphine and around the same qty. or more of methadone, they do NOT have cancer! They show them off and act like anyone else that has serious pain issues shouldn't get them like they do, the meds. seriously affect this person's behavior and they most definitely abuse them. In my opinion if anyone had that serious of pain around the clock they'd be dead from the high blood pressure alone. Serious pain causes your blood pressure to spike. This much medication, I could see for someone with stage 4 cancer getting but I don't even think they get this much. I am pretty certain that this person only chases a high and doesn't have serious enough pain to warrant that much medication.
Re: Ty Dollar Sign (# 2)
Just want to point out.....not all cancer has serious pain. So cancer patients should be treated case by case just as any other chronic pain patient. What you describe with the person getting a disgusting amount of pain meds makes me sick. But, cancer patients are not the only people in terrible uncurable pain. Look up trigeminal neuralgia, the "suicide disease". Oh, you can't see it. Just like many other conditions you can't see. People that get joint replacement do not get to have new connective tissues to replace their highly inflamed tissues. Oh yeah new joint, but they still complain of pain. My knees are replaced yet still one of the most serious sources of my pain. You can't see it. You can't know. It's easy to make quick judgments by what you see, but it's most likely what you can't see that is the source. Many fakers out there. Obviously, the braggarts are fakers. Why do so many come here to discuss meds? Because they can. It's not a popular topic, so they reach out to others who can relate.
