Amneal Generic Percocet 10/325

I've been in structured pain Mgmt for 18+ yrs; after 6 failed back surgeries & trials of treatments it was only percocet that would allow me to tolerate walking again & functioning in at least a tolerable life without nausea, dizziness, fatigue & it TAKES THE PAIN AWAY TO A MANAGEABLE LEVEL! I've been suffering for the last 2 months on a different generic brand by Amneal Pharmaceuticals; it's horrible! It's as if I'm taking a completely different drug & producing diarrhea, nausea, headache, no pain relief, etc; I know my symptoms are a result of this GENERICALLY FORCED UPON ME pill. As laws are so strict now due to drug addicts abusing it WE THE PEOPLE PERCOCET WAS MADE FOR ARE SUFFERING with the stigma & restrictions won't let me turn in the remaining amount of my script to trade for a replacement of either BRAND OR HIGHER LEVEL GENERIC! What's going on here? Is the DEA allowing these pharmacies to make us sick, fooling us by cutting corner$? What do I do? What do WE WHO NEED THIS MEDICINE AFTER YEARS OF RIGOROUS TREATMENTS & PROFESSIONAL OPINIONS do to save OUR WELL BEING! This must be addressed. It's out of control!! Speak up beautiful people!

You just asked my question and ANSWERED it. I am scared, angry, sick from this medicine. And all my pharmacy has to say is we take what they give us! I also need more answers and real Percocet.

This is getting ridiculous ! It seems like they are hoping for the placebo effect. Noticeable 50% reduction minimum in effectiveness. I suggest you ask your pm pa to switch you to just oxycodone tabs without the apap you can always get an otc nsaid to increase the effectiveness of the oxy. If you do get a brand that isn't working, don't touch the bottle with the meds in them. Immediately tell the pharmacist you need a different brand letting him hand the medication. At this point your well within you rights to ask him to order the medication from a different manufacturer. Or go to a small mom and pop pharmacy, usually they are glad to accomidate. They can usually order it within 24hrs. Good luck and God bless.

I agree! They are like taking plain Tylenol. I live on SS and now have to pay between $60 and $130 for a different GENERIC! Those Amneal things should be taken off the market. Do we have any action we can take to get them off the market?

I complained on their website but of course it did no good. Their so-called medicine for pain is s***!! It doesn't work!! Now I am stuck with a month worth of this crap. The pharmacy did not tell me they changed Norco brands. I don't like that sneaky s***! My health should not be messed with this way. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR MEDICINE BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE PHARMACY. That way you can return it if its Amneal and go somewhere else that doesn't distribute this crap medicine! Underhanded BS!

It stinks the way they treat us. Stay away from Walgreens. All they carry now is Amneal and it gave me severe side effects. Report it to the FDA. 1-888-463-6332. There are lots of people here who have been negatively affected by this garbage! Go to another pharmacy. Find out what brand they use before you fill your prescription. I went to Walgreens recently and they didn't tell me they changed to this crappy brand. I found out when I got home and then its too late. Something should be done to make it a law to inform consumers about drug brand changes. They take the right away from us to make that decision when they don't tell us. Sneaky and it's a nasty way to treat people who have pain.

I agree about Walgreens. Now this is interesting, your comment date is Feb 2018. In Jan 2018 Walgreens switched to Camber Mfg...Refilled half my Rx with the Camber. Even made the comment, don't be alarmed if it looks different, it's the same. I had gotten Actavis prior. After 2 weeks of taking the Camber portion I became sicker & sicker. I dismissed until one day opened the bottle. It did a pup fizz noise & a smell like paint thinner & rot came out!!!

Thank goodness for this site...I noted mid Jan. when Walgreens switched to Camber a flood of comments - all with symptoms similar to mine! I later got a Toxic Chemical test and it came back Arsenic! Along with aluminum & lead among others, all used in paint manufacturing facilities. One commenter had done some research, found generics now setting up plants all over India & Pakistan in industrial areas, sharing same toxic polluted water! I actually found more info in the Financial sector confirming, they know!

So, again must have scared Walgreens a bit since they switched to another cheap useless generic. Umm, looking into legal action, although Supreme Court declared in 2012, no Generic Mfg. can be sued, regardless of damages! I'm still super sick, Arsenic treatment isn't covered by insurance & this whole thing has drained all my resources.

I agree with you 100%!! I have been on here screaming about this for a couple years now. Like you, I believe the medicines are being altered. I hate this!! We are suffering because of the wrong choices of idiots!! I can go on forever about this.

We all need to get together and have someone go after this crap!! Also get test kits to find out what kind of garbage is being put into our meds!!
AMNEAL IS THE WORST!! Pure garbage. Bring whats left back to your doctor and let them know about the side affects. Get a script for what remains and find a pharmacy that doest stock Amneal.

The same thing happened to me about 2 years ago and since Ive noticed the downturn in the effectiveness of pain meds. I hope this helps.

I had the same experience. This is what you need to do:

Call your doctor and go in and tell them about your negative reactions. Have them write a new script for the balance of the medicine. They may take the crap medicine back but you don’t want that shut anyway. Then call different pharmacies that carry Mallinkrodt. My experience is that grocery stores carry it. Walgreens is notorious for carrying that Amneal crap. I don't know about CVS.

I hate that Amneal company so much for their s*** drugs. They are made in India where there is no FDA watching to see what they put in it. The fillers they use s*** as far as I’m concerned from how sick I got when I took it. Another thing to know is always ask who the manufacturer of the medicine is before accepting the bag with the medicine. Once you accept the bag with the medicine you normally can’t return it. That way, if it’s Amneal, you can refuse it, get your script back and go to another store that doesn’t carry it.

I learned all this from my experiences with this nasty poison, I meant medicine, made by Amneal.

You can ask for a different medication ONLY if you haven’t walked away from the pharmacy counter, in other words immediately upon receiving your medication stand there and check it. If you walk away, that’s it. They will no longer take it back or switch out.

I agree with you 100% cvs is using Amneal as well it’s wrong in so many ways!!!!! So I switched pharmacies to rite aid they carry Rhodes manufacturer it’s better, but no as effective as Mallinckrodt. I’m wondering if I can request brand name and pay the difference or do I have to ask my doctor to specify on the RX?

I totally agree. I have been on Hydrocodine
10/325 for many years. I always take as directed. Never abused, and it controlled my pain with no side affects. Now this word”opioids” pops up and no Doctors wants to prescribe. Thanks people for abusing it and those that really need it feel cheated
