Amneal Pharmaceuticals Hydrocodone 10-325 (Page 2) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI have been taking hydrocodone 10-325 (made by Watson) for about a year. I picked up my prescription yesterday and instead of the normal yellow pill, I received a white oblong pill imprinted with m367 on it. I took 2 for breakthrough pain and had no relief what-so-ever. I called the pharmacy and was told that they will no longer be able to get the med from Watson. Does anyone know what has happened? I have chronic pain, and these white ones from Amneal Pharmaceuticals is not going to cut it. Has anyone else experienced this?
Yes! I have congenital cervical & lumbar severe spinal stenosis ( my spinal canal is half the size of a normal adult) causing my spine to flatten! Plus I have degenerative disc disease, scoliosis too. At first my husband thought I was crazy! I currently take Norco 10 mg 325 & Morphine. Amneal Pharmaceuticals hydrocodone 10 mg is like taking a baby aspirin. Until my husband's m.s. symptoms started bothering him the V.A. prescribed Amneal to him I take Lupin Pharmaceuticals and there is an entire world of difference in this medication. My husband finally believed me! A chemist needs to randomly test this medication from both companies. Amneal is not using the same amount of pain ingredients! I take my meds like prescribed. I'm not a junkie! People who don't understand chronic pain need to voice their opinions else where ok..I would do anything to wake up& be able to walk normally without loosing balance,& crying in pain. It's to the point I refuse Amneal hydrocodone I told my pharmacist & my pain Dr it does not help me..It shouldn't matter what company makes the generic. They are not the same!

I use cvs, however my husband receives his medication from V.A. they send Amneal hydrocodone to my husband. I've asked my pharmacist to order Lupin pharmaceutical hydrocodone 10/325 Amneal is trash. I'm sorry it just doesn't help my pain at all..
Re: Roro (# 188)
I totally agree! And I researched what you have stated in your post before I read yours, and it was even difficult to find this information. We are being cheated but paying the same amount and getting no pain relief. More profit for BIG PHARMA!????
And members of congress and the FDA are all in cahoots with them and taking big payoffs. It’s unconscionable!
Yes. My mother and I both have experienced the exact same problem. I'm thinking something is weird. May talk to TV reporter.
Hey man... I have degenerative bone and joint disease which causes chronic pain with osteoarthritis ... you are correct in the bad med of the white hydro... I did a lot of reading and talking to pharmacies who would say I can not confirm nor deny that the white ones are not as strong... by manufacturer they have 2% variable meaning the strength of a 7.5 and the filler by products are different. .. you can call pharmacies in your area and ask which ones they aquire... walgreens has switched. .. if you have a pharmacy that is also a compouing lab they usually have the yellow...

I suffer from well documented bad disc problems in my lumbar and cervical region, from occupational wear and a bad car accident. Watson brand helped me tolerate a decent percent of my pain. I just tried Amneal and got a bad headache with not half the relief obtained from watson brand. It's like going from a 10 mg, to a 4mg. Lets hope someone has the funds, or a group can pitch in and have an Amneal, plus a few other brands tested at a lab and get the comps on ingredients. A pharmacist at a Walgreens in Michigan, told me they can drop the hydrocodone 15% on generics, and smiled. I asked if that's what Amneal did and she said yes with a grin, like it was a victory for God knows who. I'm sick of the stigma tied to pain meds. It's not fair to make innocent people suffer and treat patients and doctors like we are second class citizens. They are tying to heroin, because the government can't or won't stop it from coming into our country. When they refer to the opioid epidemic, the true fatalities are not norco, but heroin.

These manufacturers of garbage generics should be sued to high heaven. If they think they are weary now with these nonsensical legal cases by the so-called "do gooders" they really need to answer for their actions in harming all of the worthy recipients of these ineffective and dangerous generics being pawned off on the deserving. I have never heard of any of the manufacturers of these worthless medications being held accountable for their actions. Their actions are like lowering the speed limit on the Interstate highway system down to 25 "because if it just saves ONE life". This is always the response to any problem being addressed by a small minority of people. "Well, if it only saves ONE LIFE". Any thinking person would agree if the speed limit on the Interstate Highway was lowered down to 25 that it would save "at least ONE LIFE" but is that a reasonable response to an issue? NOT HARDLY! Why not go after the speeders, the road ragers, the drunk drivers, etc. and not put some enforcement issue in place that penalizes the 90+% of the good and decent people. This is exactly what they are trying to do with this so-called "opioid epidemic". Instead of going after the law breakers and the drug addicts they are going after everyone. Go after the law breakers and drug addicts and leave the worthy and infirm alone. This is SO ridiculous.
Yes,and I want to return them to my pharmacy, because they're junk! I have a birth defect, and my spinal canal is half the size of a normal adult. With issues Im having with my neck ,and back its causing my spine to flatten. I might as well be taking a baby aspirin. Amneal needs to be investigated, because whatever filler they're using in the narco's is garbage!

I have been on Amneal case for over a year now. It is s***!! Take what is left back to your doc and have them write you a new prescription for the balance. Report to the pharmacy where you got the Amneal and let them know the side affects. Also report to FDA. Keep a pill or 2 to be analyzed. Dont waste your time reporting to Amneal. I got hung up on or the phone just rang. There have been many complaints against this company for the lousy quality and bad side effects. I have learned to ask the manufacturer of the medicine of the pharmacist before I accept it. If its Amneal I refuse it. Once you take it it cant be returned so always ask. If they only stock Amneal get your script back and call other pharmacies to see what they have. This drug and its company need to be investigated!! Their so called medicine is poison!!
Re: Dano (# 2)
I have been on hydrocodone for several years due to degenerative disc disease and severe erosive arthritis. I only take them when the pain is overwhelming. I used to get the yellow Qualitest, and they gave me great pain relief. But Qualitest quit making them, and I had to use a different brand, which was like taking candy. No pain relief at all. I did some research and found out that the FDA allows drug manufacturers to use up to 20% less of the medicine in genetics. So a lot of generic medicine manufactures do that because it’s cheaper. So that’s why some brands work better than others. It’s maddening! Generics should have the exact same amount of medicine in them and the same binders so they are exact replicas as the name brand. It’s totally wrong for the FDA to allow this!

This is because those in fda are hired by big pharma when they leave their cushy fda job .... so if they do their 20yrs they get full pension (so they start at 23 & retire at 43 [must be nice] then go work for a big pharma upper office) so they double dip getting their thousands of taxpayer dollars from pension then get a 6 figure income from big pharma & then get another pension when they retire AGAIN (if 65 they now have 20 years in again in private sector [thus now they can get more tax payer dollars from social security] again now triple dipping) their fda pension their big pharma pension & social security ..... & there are those that say well they earned it & yes that's true BUT these are the things that cost elderly & poor to need to decide between food or meds ..... I ask WHY just because you work for government should you get a pension for working only 20 years that is BS when the government is over 25 trillion dollars in debt .... if in private sector they would be out of business or at very least down sizing but the govt keeps hiring more bureaucrats... I can understand sorta military at 20 years but why cant they be moved to logistics or management to finish out their careers.... it seems they take better care of officer that retire than combat vets that those same officers sent those combat vets into harmsway too be mammed or murdered (& if murdered the family is all but forgotten after the first year or so ...... wow I got a bit off topic sorry but did I really be well
I’m weaning on some stronger pain meds and have been given Amneal Norco 5 mg, but I’m getting no relief at all. Anyone else having this problem?
Hello. I know exactly what you're going through. Yes, walgreens and cvs changed it to amneal but it didnt do anything for me either. So I switched to the pharmacy at westlake. Or you can try jewel or walmart. They said they are taking the narcotic part out so you dont get addicted. I have chronic pain all over... I was in an accident, broke my spine, my neck and the back of my skull, and had a total knee replacement and this bulls*** they are doing ain't going to cut it. I will probably die of pain.
I was on the Watson 10/325 and doing great. Then Walgreens decides to have the hairbrush idea and get Amneal and I told them to put it in my file that I get sick from these. Well, I took one without looking and now I have heartburn and upset stomach and the Texas trots... They have the new brand that's the same as Watson and is Actavis but won't change it out for me. Because I left the store. So make sure the *****s that we trust put in the right meds because they won't warn you of any changes.... Good luck to everyone.
I am having the exact same problem for over a period of time! The Amneal generic is reported to have a generic version of the active ingredient that is used in the brand name! It gives me an intense headache and stomach pain!
Yes, I'm stuck right there with the rest of you as far as Watson not being available is concerned. I have far more nasty things to say but won't. It might say Hydrocodone/apap 10-325 but with some of these generics that are out now, I DON'T BELIEVE IT. I heard they are cutting back Hydrocodone content to our veterans because of overdosing or some other crap. If you gave these wounded warriors the care they really needed in some cases for extreme and chronic pain why are they overdosing to try and relieve it? They are also suffering from PTSS and need help! However, what did our WW2 and Vietnam vets do with the same problems? Oh, that's right, they didn't have these bastards in gov't. regulating everything you took then. There was some pretty good stuff around then. What are the Bushes, CIA and their poppy fields in Afghanistan going to do? If we've got such a bad problem with drugs why are those who need them having such a hard time? The gov't. wants to kill off the seniors so take their meds away and give them garbage that doesn't work or makes you far worse like these blood pressure warehouses pumping out lies, hoaxes, poison and selling more crap than they ever have. Just look at who advertises on every T.V. network and propaganda news outlets in the U.S. Hell, if that's not good enough they fly over your damn houses with chem-trails so why do you care if we get the pain relief we need you hypocrites. Go after the Bushes and Clintons and leave the rest of us the hell alone! And keep your stuff away from the kids. Do you really think they are stupid?
I recently required an increase in dose for the Norco to the 10/325. While I’m not thrilled with taking it to begin with it’s the best temporary antidote to control pain. I started with the manufacturer Activas aka Watson, however they’ve been bought out. Part of the generic manufacturing went to Teva yet since they already manufactured the same exact medication it was outsourced. Not sure who to. When I submitted a refill script, I was unaware that the manufacturers had changed as the pharmacist did not discuss this with me when I picked it up. The first dose caused nothing but headaches, I notified the pharmacist immediately who stated there could be a drug allergy. Since this was all I had, I took another dose the following day, before bed-didn’t feel side effects while asleep! The 3rd dose on the next day I noticed I felt no relief, yet 2hrs after I took the dose I began to feel the effects- nausea On the 4th day and my last and final dose, I took the medication at 12:30pm. It was not until 3:55 pm I began to feel the effects (as if it was time released) I was literally sick to my stomach, nauseated with Headaches and still in pain! for 8+hrs after taking a 12:30 does this stuff was still lingering in my body! My resolution: I called my insurance company to notify them I had an adverse reaction to the Amneal manufactured product, I called Walgreens and notified the pharmacist (Mgr) of the same, they refunded my co-pay, I took the unused portion of the prescription to my physician, obtained a receipt for the return and was thankfully given a new RX. I have also stated a formal complaint against the pharmaceutical company which obligates them to check the formulation. Generic manufacturers are required to have them of course approved by the FDA however the excipients or fillers they use in addition to the Tylenol and Hydrocodone varies from one manufacturer to another.
Lastly when I called my local Walgreens to thank them for all their help they stated I was one of 100+ calls in the last week with the similar complaints of illness, so much that it’s been escalated to Executive Mgmt that Amneal’s formulation is causing high amounts of adverse reactions. I advise anyone if they haven’t taken this formulation before from Amneal, don't.
Re: Becky (# 4)
This situation you find yourself in is a result of the political climate on pain medications. This IS NOT a Republican or Democrat problem. Politicians in both parties are saying that all pain meds are evil. I have emailed every Representative that I can about differentiating between street level addicts and legitimate people that have been responsibly using their pain meds for YEARS. It is insanity that ALL patients of pain medications are grouped in with street level drug addicts but unfortunately that is where we are. I have never gotten a response from anyone in Congress. We are just going to have to put up with the nonsense for now. The Dr.'s and Pharmacists and Pharmacies are being browbeaten and sued unmercifully. Some of these groups know that if they cause these people and the drug manufacturers to have to spend millions to defend frivolous legal suits they will have no choice but to drop out of the legal pain medication markets. A lot of people/companies do not have the resources to fight these repeated so called "legal" assaults.
As consumers, the recipe used by all companies should be disclosed to the public. Just as with foods some people may also be allergic to the added ingredients. This is America and all citizens have the right to know.

I do believe, you are spot on!!! I have researched, made phone calls, been lied to, ect.... Everyone pls make complaints all the way, from your doctor to the FDA!! Good luck all!!
