Amneal Pharmaceuticals Hydrocodone 10-325 (Page 4)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I have been taking hydrocodone 10-325 (made by Watson) for about a year. I picked up my prescription yesterday and instead of the normal yellow pill, I received a white oblong pill imprinted with m367 on it. I took 2 for breakthrough pain and had no relief what-so-ever. I called the pharmacy and was told that they will no longer be able to get the med from Watson. Does anyone know what has happened? I have chronic pain, and these white ones from Amneal Pharmaceuticals is not going to cut it. Has anyone else experienced this?

U r right ! We r bullied! It’s politically incorrect to take be pro opioid. I thought it was politically incorrect to bully disabled people... people in chronic pain are disabled! We r afraid to speak up about any wrong or abuse because we r at risk of being labeled negatively. I complained to pharmacist about defective generic opioid they just look at u ! If I say same about a proton pump inhibitor. They engage and report complaints immediately. I had older 5mg Watson hydrocodone m/apap pill that I found in my bag. Took it and had pain relief. Took my new amneal 10 mg hydrocodone/apap and nothing

On most cases I would agree with u until I had 3 different meds do this. A beta blocker, a proton pump inhibitor and an opioid. All three brands were changed at different times. All 3 new generics were much less effective! The qualitiest hydrocodone/acetaminophen worked much better than mallincrodt or amneal products. I didn’t build tolerance overnight.

10-325 is oxycodone percocet the m367 is hydrocodone not as strong as the yellow pills you were given

I've been using the Mallinckrodt brand with M367 for a long time. I haven't noticed any decrease in quality, but it's been a while since I've tried a different brand. Sometimes when they don't seem to work as well, it could just be our tolerance level changing. I try to prevent that by always taking the same amount each day as prescribed. That seems to work for me. But I'm sure they don't work as well as they used to. And that would be the same for any brand. The longer one takes narcotic pain meds, the less effective they become. It would be interesting to test the yellow Qualitest now, and see if I notice a difference. I don't think I've ever had that Amneal brand. After reading the comments here, I hope my pharmacy doesn't switch to it.

The M367 are made by Mallinckrodt not Amneal but I get the Mallinckrodt and no they don’t work as well as they did before the so called opioid crisis.

Mary [ or anyone else ] have you had any luck finding a pharmacy in or near Sacramento that carries Qualitest yellow Norco { made by Phar Pharm. now I think }.? I had a pharmacy tell me today they don't carry that product because of to many break-ins into their store. They agree it was their best generic Norco for pain, this is so wrong for chronic pain suffers . Junkies screwing up treatment for people that have a real need for pain relief

Amneal of course says nothing is wrong. They told me the same. Screw them. I notified the FDA. Always keep a pill or 2 aside so FDA can test. I got so sick from amneal pain medicine I almost went to ER. Its so nasty!!
Everyone that has side affects from this nasty medicine needs to report to pharmacy and FDA!!
Thank you for reporting!

Agreed! I reported to Amneal and received an email stating they found no issues. I also reported it to the FDA and Walgreens pulled it from their shelves at my pharmacy due to the side affects so many customers encountered. SOMETHING in the ingredients are toxic to our system. It will be unfortunately years before someone files a class action against them and it settles, as it’s only a matter of time before someone gets so sick from their medications that it causes an irreversible side effect.

I have been on Amneal case for over a year now. It is s***!! Take what is left back to your doc and have them write you a new prescription for the balance. Report to the pharmacy where you got the Amneal and let them know the side affects. Also report to FDA. Keep a pill or 2 to be analyzed. Dont waste your time reporting to Amneal. I got hung up on or the phone just rang. There have been many complaints against this company for the lousy quality and bad side effects. I have learned to ask the manufacturer of the medicine of the pharmacist before I accept it. If its Amneal I refuse it. Once you take it it cant be returned so always ask. If they only stock Amneal get your script back and call other pharmacies to see what they have. This drug and its company need to be investigated!! Their so called medicine is poison!!

Yes,and I want to return them to my pharmacy, because they're junk! I have a birth defect, and my spinal canal is half the size of a normal adult. With issues Im having with my neck ,and back its causing my spine to flatten. I might as well be taking a baby aspirin. Amneal needs to be investigated, because whatever filler they're using in the narco's is garbage!

Re: Mary (# 141) Expand Referenced Message

You are probably familiar with the term SILENT MAJORITY. This is what we have now with the so called "opioid crisis". The majority of long term chronic pain patients that receives opioid pain medications are afraid to make themselves known because they are afraid that they will be called "chasers" and labeled with other unflattering terms. There was a time when there could be civil discourse with the Doctors, Pharmacists, and others involved but not anymore. If you say one word that is considered positive about opioid pain medications there is a fear of being dropped from the prescription of these medications. The fear of losing their prescriptions keeps a strong majority silent. This is why the minority of screamers and rabble rousers get all of the attention and the majority of chronic pain patients just sit back and take it.

I could not agree with you more and thank you for the additional insight. As I sit here with a massive migraine, trying to function it just boggles my mind that this is happening as I have a proper doctor with a proper diagnosis and under-medicate myself and yet does it even matter really that I go through the proper channel??? That answer is no.....The manufacturers to your point are deciding what I can and cannot take and it's just wrong on so many levels. I think the scariest point you mentioned was that the "minority" is yelling the loudest so it's creepy that for the "majority" it's not an issue but ultimately the ones being effected the largest amount. It's a shame that no lawyers are picking this up as the lives lost to opioid abuse are now going to be lost to people that cannot live a life in pain.

Re: Mary (# 139) Expand Referenced Message

Every since the manufacturers started getting sued by non profit groups and, worse, State's Attorney Generals Offices they have basically changed the formulation of their generic opioids to be essentially worthless. An over the counter Tylenol or Alleve works just as well. Aside from lowering the amount of opioid medicine in a prescription the manufacturers have tried to change the molecular structure of opioid medicine to take out all of the properties in opioids that might give a person a feeling of euphoria. The bad thing is as they changed the formulation of the opioid medicines they also removed any benefits received from taking pain medication. They have reformulated the "good" (meaning effectiveness, NOT getting a "high" out of pain medications) out of the pain medications and left chronic pain sufferers with medications that are mainly worthless and ineffective. We are in such a negative political climate right now. BOTH political parties are kowtowing to the loudest whiners in the public. Although the whiners are actually in the minority they yell the LOUDEST so they are the ones that politicians listen to. The fact that no Attorney or class action group of Attorneys will come close to touching this issue should speak volumes. Normally, these Attorneys would jump all over ANY issue that they see a payday from they will not touch this issue because, even though, this is an easily winnable case, the political costs would be high too. We are so screwed right now. The government tried to outlaw alcohol through abolition and all it did was set up an underground black market for beer and whiskey. Anyone that is familiar with the "speakeasys" know what I mean. Instead of just stopping pushing Doctors to prescribe pain medications and stipulating that it is now known and understood that pain medications are addictive or, at the very least, create dependency for long term users the manufacturers have tried to reformulate everything and that has made pain medications basically junk and worthless.

Re: Louigi (# 39) Expand Referenced Message

I cannot agree with you more. I fought for many years not to take any pain medication for my Fibromyalgia and my neck pain and the migraines from the pain got so intense that my doctor literally had to force me to start taking something for the pain. In the last 3 years that I have taken literally ONE norco a night, I got a better job, got promoted in less than a year, and bought a beautiful house. In other words, it made me a functioning human being again. I happen to do well with the Qualitest yellow Norco as I also went through a HUGE spell of these awful generics that would hurt my already bad tummy, give me terrible headaches and no pain relief. I live in the Sacramento area and just recently the only pharmacy to my knowledge that carried this brand no longer does. I had my Dr. write a prescription for the "yellow only" and there is no pharmacy and I've been to them all, that will either A) order it for me, or B) carries this brand. Because of this, I have had to start taking these awful generics again and am recently trying the Amneal which are not good. My stomach hurts, it burns my stomach terribly, and again gives me even more of a headache than I already have and no pain relief at all.

It's a shame that the people like us with REAL pain on this thread who's lives have been changed by this medication are treated like addicts and the carp of society for taking medicine that HELPS us. This medication changed my life and now I'm hearing they no longer carry my brand and are reducing the medicinal quality and function of this medication in general? I mean really?!! Over the last month I am slipping back into being a sick, non-functioning, lifeless person just living and breathing with pain again. I would love to see these people that are making these decisions be on the other side of the fence and live with pain and then tell me that we are pathetic and don't need it. It's nuts, it's disgusting, and I feel for all of us here.

If someone does happen to know a pharmacy in the Sacramento area that carries the Qualitest please let me know. Heck I would drive a 100 miles just to get my brand to help with my pain!! Otherwise, Amneal in my humble opinion, you mine as well just take a placebo pill because that's all it is, a sugar pill.
