Ambien Or Ramelteon, Differences?
UpdatedI have been using ambien for 1 yr,I have heard bad press about heart conditions,,although no bad side effects for me,would ramelteon be a better choice?

I haven't found anything that definitively says Ambien can cause heart conditions. There are some existing heart conditions that require it's usage be carefully monitored and the dosage controlled.

However, using it for a year does give you the risk of becoming dependent on it, that's why it's actually only approved for short term use.
The Ramelteon is actually approved for long term use, because it doesn't bind to GABA receptors and cause the same types of problems that Ambien does.
