I've been taking doxycycline for a little more than a week for an STI. Although it seems that my symptoms from the STI are clearing up I am wondering if I am experiencing adverse reactions from the drug. I seem to have a red rash around my scrotal area. The skin seems red and slightly sensitive but not unbearable. Is this caused by the medication?

As listed by the FDA, antibiotics can cause non-allergic skin rashes as side effects, or it may have caused a yeast infection. If it isn't itchy and there are no hives involved, it's likely not an allergic reaction, but you should have your doctor look at it, to be sure.
Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and diarrhea.
