Alternative To Condone Medications

I am awaiting surgery for spondylolisthesis and taking either oxycodone or hydrocodone for the pain as needed (no more than 1-2 a day, and usually in the evening). Both of these medications leave me with a headache. Are there any other medications to help alleviate the pain, while not causing a headache? Thank you.

A headache can be a normal side effect of opiate medications, I always get a horrible one from Dilaudid.

The FDA warns that they have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

I've already mentioned Dilaudid, which is one you could speak to your doctor about trying. You could also discuss Morphine and Opana.

Have you tried taking a paracetamol (Tylenol) or ibuprofen alongside your oxycodone.
